The following is not investment advice. We’re just pointing out some interesting scriptures that have to do with investing. Enjoy!
Christians Are Capitalists
Capitalism, principles related to wealth, work and property rights, is taught in the Bible. It’s a system in which individuals or private groups own property and businesses with the goal of making a profit.
Within capitalism is the framework from which Believers can choose to use their gift(s) by working hard at whatever they choose to do/managing what God is allowing in their lives.
Most importantly, Believers must always keep their eyes on the eternal God, not temporal wealth. Never forget, the most important thing in life is who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Matt. 16:26
When a Believer is employed, it’s important that he knows who he’s ultimately working for. Yes, a Believer’s purpose is to work hard to make employers successful. But it’s far more important for an employee to know and trust that he’s working directly for the Lord.
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. Col. 3:23
If Jesus walked up to you and asked you to do something, how would you respond? Most of us would break doors down getting our assigned task done as properly and expeditiously as humanly possible.
The point is, anyone who believes they’re working for the Lord will rarely have a problem getting, or keeping, a job.
A Believer’s life should be all about God, what He wants, and how we can be used by Him. It’s His call as to how much wealth we have.
But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, Deut. 8:18a
And every able-bodied man is expected to work, if he wants to eat.
…if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. 2Thes. 3:10
So there is no excuse for a man not to work and earn money if he's able. And, of course, the best way to get something done is to start.
In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Prov. 14:23
Getting rich should not be a Believer’s goal.
Do not weary yourself to gain wealth, cease from your consideration of it. When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. Prov. 23:4,5
A Believer’s number one goal is to have a good reputation, be a good witness, represent the Lord well.
A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, favor is better than silver and gold. Prov. 22:1
So a Believer’s sights are set on God, not money. And if God blesses, it’s a true blessing!
It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it. Prov. 10:22
Investing
Not only are we to work hard, we’re to take any excess wages and invest them. The Lord Himself teaches how to profit.
Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go.” Is. 48:17
God has, in fact, taught the Jews who read their Bibles how to make a profit. And to save enough through the years to ultimately pass along assets to the following generations.
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, Prov. 13:22a
Watching the Jews prosper through the years has become a problem for many non-Jews, suggesting they make their money via sinister means.
Jews are sinners too, but most just follow God’s rules and do well.
When we go to Israel on our trips, it’s not hard to notice that Israel is a nation of Jewish managers. Only a small number are desolate and need financial assistance.
Most employees working for Jewish companies are paid a fair wage … mainly because the Bible says to.
He who oppresses the poor to make more for himself or who gives to the rich, will only come to poverty. Prov. 22:16
Believers Are Adopted Into The Jewish Inheritance
Born Again Believers are grafted into God's promises to Abraham—the first Jew. So God will also teach us Christian Believers how to make a profit, and hopefully how to invest some of that excess to multiply our assets.
We’re blessed to live in the USA that was founded on Biblical principles. We were founded by Christians and our founders based our Constitution on God’s rules that are capitalistic and encourage making a profit.
There are some 2300 verses in the Bible mentioning money. 16 of the 38 parables Jesus taught are about money. As an example:
The Parable of the Money Usage
In Luke 19:12-27, ten men were given minas/money to invest. Of the ten investors, two of the ten made a profit .
The text explains seven made no profit investing and possibly one or more even lost money.
But what’s fascinating is that the only one whom the Lord was upset with was not one who lost money, but rather, the man who was scared to invest.
He hid his investment money so he wouldn’t lose it. He was called “worthless.”
“Another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina*, which I kept put away in a handkerchief; for I was afraid of you, because you are an exacting man; you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow.’ He said to him, ‘By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow? Then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come, I would have collected it with interest?’” Luke 19:20-23
* A mina was worth about three months' wages.
In another similar passage, the one who didn’t invest at all buried his money. It didn’t go well for him either.
“But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed. Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. Therefore take away the talent* from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’” Matt. 25:26-28
* A talent is 75 pounds of silver or gold. Today, one gold talent would be equivalent to approximately $6 million. A silver talent would be worth about $60 thousand.
It goes without saying that there are many who have no means to invest for myriads of reasons, but there is no excuse today for someone not to invest if/when the Lord gives them the means.
Spread Your Investments
I personally know of an individual who worked his entire life saving up a sizable nest egg. He put the entire amount in a “can’t miss” investment and lost it all. Ouch.
To keep something like this from happening, God says it’s best to spread your investments over 7 or 8 areas.
Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth. Eccl. 11:2
An application of this principle is when people buy mutual funds. When you buy stock in a mutual fund, you’re buying several companies. That way, if one company does poorly, the others will average out the entire fund.
Have More Than One Financial Advisor
Whenever you’re making big decisions, which would, of course, include investments, it’s best to have more than one advisor.
Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory. Prov. 11:14
Your Bible is always your first line of defense. It’s dependable armor for life’s battles. Therefore, your personal Bible study and spiritual growth will affect your financial decisions.
Your testimonies [Scriptures] also are my delight; They are my counselors. Psa. 119:24
It’s really quite simple—put the Lord first and He will honor that.
… his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Psa. 1:2-3
This principle is also elucidated in Malachi 3:10 where (in the Old Testament) God promises if you tithe, He will return to you an overflowing blessing. A tithe was 10% for the Levites, 10% for the Feasts and 10% every three years for the widows. Plus other miscellaneous tithes...a lot more than 10%!
In the New Testament, no percentage is commanded. Rather, 2Cor. 9:7 says to give not under compulsion, but cheerfully. 1Cor. 16 tells us we're to give prayerfully, as we have prospered, praying about how much to give, and give regularly.
And in Matthew 6:3 Jesus said we're to give anonymously. Putting your name on a building, or pew, is not anonymous. Just saying.
Your spouse is also important to be included in investment discussions. Since usually opposites attract and get married, you’ll get a different perspective regarding what areas make the best investments.
An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. Prov. 31:10-11
Make sure your investments are legal, and not get-rich-quick investments. You want investments that Jesus would approve…He knows what you’re thinking!
Ill-gotten gains do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death. Prov. 10:2
Precious Metals / Gold / Silver
Investing will increase your prayer life too. 🙂 Take precious metals for instance... especially lately.
The recently skyrocketing gold and silver prices finally had a substantial and eye-opening pull-back. As a liquid tradable asset, gold and silver move up and down, depending on supply and demand.
When the price of most anything goes up, investors reach a point they want to sell and take profits. When a price goes straight up, it's only a matter of time before sellers will want to cash out.
Even when the price of a stock or commodity moves up over time, it’s a series of up and down moves. When it moves down, it’s also a series of down and up moves.
Notice this chart of silver over the last two months. The price goes up and then eventually pulls back. Nothing goes straight up forever.
This is not abnormal. Investors all over the globe buy and sell precious metals 24/7.
With paper dollars losing value through inflation, precious metals are considered by many to be a good investment to retain the purchasing power lost via inflation of unbacked paper currency.
Prophecy and Gold / Silver
The Bible prophesies about people who own gold and silver in the last days just before our breathtaking disappearing act. It specifically mentions people who own gold and silver.
Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! James 5:3
Therefore, gold and silver will be a “treasure” worth a LOT immediately after the Rapture. Therefore, it’s likely we’ll see its value trend-lines going up as we approach the amazing Rapture departure.
When our great and exciting exodus does happen, all fiat* money systems will quickly begin losing their value to inflation.* Only gold and/or silver will retain any reasonable currency value.
*Fiat currency is any paper currency not redeemable in a fixed amount of gold or silver.
*Inflation: In 1983, Webster's New Universal Unabridged Dictionary defined inflation as:
"An increase in the amount of currency in circulation, resulting in a relatively sharp and sudden fall in its value and rise in prices: it may be caused by an increase in the volume of paper money issued or of gold mined, or a relative increase in expenditures as when the supply of goods fails to meet the demand."
This means as the U.S. Government continues to escalate the national debt each year, more money is, in essence, being printed and the dollar is worth less.
(Keep in mind that there are Believers all over the world with different government monetary situations who are reading their Bibles. But all monetary systems 
will eventually fall to the Beast in the Tribulation.)
Inflation is one of the hallmarks of the 3rd Seal in the Book of Revelation. The third horse is black, representing scarcity of resources and one of the chief ways to die after the Rapture in the Tribulation is famine. So food becomes scarce or too expensive to buy.
Revelation 6:8 gives the eye-opening number of 1/4 of the earth dying almost immediately following the Rapture from the “great sword” (Nuclear?) and from famine.
Those with hard assets like gold and/or silver will be able to better afford to purchase food during the worldwide famine.
A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; Rev. 6:6b
A denarius is a day’s wage. Therefore it takes everything one earns in a day just to buy food for a day. If you have nothing left to pay for housing, energy, etc., things get desperate rather quickly.
Interestingly, whenever I write about gold and silver in the Tribulation, I have an uncomfortable number of professing Christians ask how they should leave their gold/silver assets to their family members who they believe will probably be left behind after the Rapture.
I tell them it doesn’t really matter, that would be the least of their problems. At the Rapture, with the Restrainer removed, the poop hits the fan…especially here in the United States.
Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. Prov. 11:4
People will get saved without God’s Holy Spirit on the earth just like people got saved before the Church Age—by faith. But again, everything post-Rapture is a time of sheer horror until Jesus' Second Coming at the end of the 7 year Tribulation.
There is a saying that anarchy is only nine-missed-meals away. When you combine missed meals with no electricity, no water except what you can get out of the lakes and rivers, and no rule of law, it’s all over but the shouting.
As best we can tell, if the country in Revelation 18 is the USA, and I believe it is, then this verse confirms our Rapture/rescue happens just before the 7 years of horror.
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues”; Rev. 18:4
"Come out of her" is the Rapture and "My people” are all true Believers alive anywhere on earth. This is consistent with God’s promises to rescue Believers before His earthly wrath is unleashed:
Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. 1Thes. 1:10
God has not destined us for wrath, 1Thes. 5:9
And as we’ve pointed out before, it’s Jesus who is the One breaking the 7 Seals of wrath as judgment on the earth:
Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, Rev. 6:1a
When He broke the second seal… Rev. 6:3
When He broke the third seal… Rev. 6:5
When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, Rev. 6:7
When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, Rev. 6:9
...when He broke the sixth seal, Rev. 6:12
When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, Rev. 8:1
And if Believers somehow lived into the Tribulation (like mid-tribbers ridiculously believe), Jesus would be casting His wrath on Himself. That dog won’t hunt.
When God's Holy Spirit departs at the Rapture, those saved in the Tribulation are not indwelled with the Holy Spirit. The Church Age, defined as the time the Holy Spirit is present on the earth and indwelling Believers, is the only time permanent indwelling of Believers happens.
Before the cross (technically until His arrival at Pentecost), God’s Spirit didn’t indwell Believers, they were saved by faith (Heb. 11). After the Rapture, God’s Spirit again will not indwell those getting saved by faith.
America’s Demise Will Be Immediate
for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. Rev. 18:5-6
For myriads of reasons, God wipes out post-Rapture America in one day, and New York City in one hour.
For this reason in one day her (USA?) plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; Rev. 18:8
for in one hour she (NYC?) has been laid waste! Rev 18:19b
Most likely it’s by a nuclear attack. And for those living post-Rapture, having gold and silver might buy a little time but will only be temporary.
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the day of the LORD’S wrath; And all the earth will be devoured in the fire of His jealousy, for He will make a complete end, indeed a terrifying one, of all the inhabitants of the earth. Zeph. 1:18
In summary, like everything else in a Believer’s life, the more we trust the Lord, the better off we are as Bible-Believing investors.
The more we know scripture, the more we can apply it to make Godly decisions as we navigate our earthly existence.
And scripture always points us back to God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Col. 3:2
If we’re willing to accept that the Lord is over everything, including how long we will live and whether or not we’ll be rich, then we can live, and invest, in complete peace.
So pray for wisdom (James 1:5) and plan wisely based on what you’ve learned from scripture.
…wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. James 3:17
And always be assured that God’s in control... causing all things to work together for good to those who love God (Rom. 8:28).
Lastly, if/when you do have some success, don’t get cocky!
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” James 4:13
Be humble!
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; Col. 3:12

Translation: Post-Rapture, the New World Leader will make some kind of treaty/covenant with many nations specifically for 7 years. When this agreement is made, the Tribulation begins.
We don't know how long it will be between the Rapture and the covenant is signed, but we have theorized it will be 50 days.

Harvard conducted an animal study in 2015 to determine addictiveness of nicotine. To their surprise, they couldn’t get any animals to be addicted to strict nicotine in water.
So researchers obtained documents from tobacco companies and learned that tobacco product manufacturers figured out in the 1970s that nobody would purchase, so they had to figure out how to make the tobacco products addictive.
To ensure repeat sales, they begin adding Pyrazines… Chemicals that make nicotine addictive… and have continued this practice to this day.
