For the next two weeks Susie and I will be at our 50th Wedding celebration in the deep south organized by our daughters. So IF there is a Compass eNews, it will be quite truncated.
Obviously, we all know there's only one reason we've been married for 50 years—the Lord Jesus Christ.
We weren't Believers when we first got married in 1975. We met as students at Auburn University (War Eagle!) in 1973.
Had we not been saved by the Grace of God in 1978 we would probably be divorced. We loved each other and didn't fight, but we just were moving in different directions.
Once we got saved, and were both seeking the Lord, as we each grew closer to Him we grew closer to each other. The more we studied our Bibles the more we had answers to deal with life's ups and downs.
Billy Graham's wife, Ruth, was once asked if she ever considered divorce. She answered, "Divorce? No. Murder, yes." I'm pretty sure Susie can relate! Probably all wives can relate!
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD. Prov. 18:22
I'm incredibly grateful the Lord brought Susie into my life, His GIFT to me, the perfect complement to my life, and we look forward to celebrating what the Lord has done for 50 years!
Anyhoot, we're headed out for a rare two weeks of vacation. I do feel badly about the timing as the world is crazy and Rosh Hashanah is coming up pretty quickly. Oh well.

Next month, September 22-24, Israelis will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the 5th of seven national feasts/celebrations designated by the Lord to occur at specific times during the year.
‘These are the appointed times of the LORD, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at the times appointed for them. Lev. 23:4
It's important for Believers to be knowledgeable of the Jewish feasts because the Bible says we're grafted into God's promises to the Jews.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, Rom. 11:17
We're basically riding Abraham's coattails (promises) to the party. Unfortunately, few Believers know much about their Jewish roots. Yet, Believers are not only "grafted" into a Bible full of Jewish promises, God also says we're adopted into their faith.
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Gal. 4:4-5
This basically is saying that all the privileges of a son being a part of his family, belong to Born Again Believers in God's redeemed family. And it's because Jesus paid the penalty of our personal sins via His death on the cross that made our adoption possible.
So familiarity with the Jewish feasts is important. As a recap, these are the seven Jewish Feasts required for every Jew in which to participate:

Atonement / Yom Kippur

It's most interesting that the Church Age's first four major events, the 1) death, 2) burial, 3) resurrection and 4) coming of the Holy Spirit, happened exactly on the first four Jewish feasts days. This can't be by accident!
Passover - Jesus' death
Unleavened Bread - Jesus' Burial
First Fruits - Jesus' Resurrection
Pentecost - The Coming of God's Holy Spirit
The next major Church Age event is the Rapture. So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it will probably occur on the next feast in their respective order—which is Rosh Hashanah.
Rosh Hashanah is also called the Feast of Trumpets because God commanded the blowing of trumpets during this feast.
Again the LORD [Yahweh] spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a rest, a reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the LORD.’” Lev. 23:23-25
Jewish scribes associate this feast with the return of the Messiah because when the Lord came down to Mt. Sinai in the desert, the Jews were greeted with a loud trumpet sound.
So it came about on the third day (1), when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. Ex. 19:16
The people of Israel had gathered in the desert at the bottom of Mount Sinai for the express purpose of meeting God.
And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. Ex. 19:17
Because there was a loud trumpet sound when the Jews were to meet God in the desert, the Jews connect the Lord's Messianic coming to the Feast of Trumpets.
We know the Rapture is also associated with trumpets:
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; 1Cor. 15:52
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, 1Th. 4:16
When Paul was inspired by the Lord to write those words, every living breathing Jew reading those verses would have connected the Rapture to the feast of Rosh Hashanah.
Just as God descended on Mt. Sinai with the sound of the trumpet, Jesus will also have his angels call us with the heavenly trumpet to meet our Lord Jesus in the air.
Just as the High Priest would blow the ram's horn (trumpet) to stop harvesting and come to the Temple to worship, Believers who are alive will cease their harvest of souls and meet the Lord in the air.
Even the long break between the Spring feasts and the fall feasts, that ends with trumpets blowing, could be a reference to the Church Age, that ends with trumpets.
During Rosh Hashanah the Jews blow the ram's horn/trumpet 100 times. The last blowing is one great long blast at sunset, i.e. the "last trumpet."
It's not hard to see that the chart could also be of the Church Age, 2 days/2 thousand years.
Therefore, it's not a stretch to connect Rosh Hashanah with the Rapture, whatever year it happens.
Now it always happens when I write about this, there will be some who are new to Compass who will quote me this verse:
“But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Mark 13:32
But to read that verse in its correct context and apply it in the correct dispensation, that verse was spoken pre-cross in the Age of Israel. Jesus was speaking to the Jews under the age of Israel, not to Believers living after the cross who were permanently indwelled by the Holy Spirit.
Also, we see Jesus receiving all knowledge in Revelation 5, so He can't make that statement today... He now knows when the Rapture is. It was true when He said it, but it's not true today for Believers living in the Church Age.
Believers are instructed that the Rapture will be a surprise for non-Believers but NOT a surprise to us Believers.
For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; 1Th. 5:2-5
It's interesting that the verse says "while they are saying 'Peace and safety!'" Have you noticed any clamor for peace lately? If this Middle East peace comes together before Rosh Hashanah this year, this could get real interesting.
We know the Church Age began on Pentecost in May of 33 AD. Therefore, using a 2000 year long Church Age, we've theorized that April 2033 is likely the latest the Church Age could end.
But if Rapture is on Rosh Hashanah in the fall, we don't know if that will be the Rosh Hashahah in 2032 or 2033.
The verse also says the "Day of the Lord" begins with the Tribulation. That argues for a 2033 Rapture and what changes Trump is making might continue for 7 years (of plenty) before the 7 years of horror.
But if you subtract the seven years of Tribulation from 2032 you get 2025 as the year of the Rapture. Lots of ifs, but makes this September exciting nevertheless.
This year, the two-day Rosh Hashanah Feast begins in Israel September 22 at sundown and ends September 24 at sundown... with a long trumpet blast.
In Israel sunset is Wednesday, September 24, at 6:28 PM. Here in the United States the same time will be:

The UK's secret services are planning to enlist NATO allies in a large-scale operation targeting the "shadow fleet," which could lead to an environmental disaster in international waters, the press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) said in a statement obtained by TASS.
"British secret services are planning ecological disaster in international waters. The press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation informs that, according to the information coming to the SVR, the British secret services are planning to involve NATO allies in a massive roundup for the ‘shadow fleet’," the statement said.
According to London's plan, the impetus for such a campaign should be provided by "a resonant incident involving one or more tankers."
"The plan involves organizing a major act of sabotage the losses of which would allow the transportation of Russian oil to be declared a threat to all international shipping. This would untie Western countries’ hands in choosing methods of counteraction," the document said.
Two scenarios and actors
According to the SVR, the British are working on "two potential casus belli." "The first scenario implicates setting up an ‘unwanted’ tanker accident in one of the bottlenecks of sea communications (for example, in straits). As it is believed in London, oil spills and fairway blocking would provide NATO countries with ‘sufficient’ grounds for establishing a precedent of ‘extraordinary’ vessel inspection under the guise of maritime safety and environmental regulations compliance," the statement noted.
"The second one involves setting fire to a tanker at loading in a port of a state friendly to Russia. It is expected that the fire would cause significant damage to the port infrastructure and spread to other vessels, which would require an international investigation," the SVR emphasized.
"London is going to entrust Ukrainian security forces with the implementation of both terrorist attacks. Their expectedly dirty work and inability to ‘cover up’ their tracks are considered by the British as a guarantee of impunity for themselves. The international investigation would hold either Russia or at worst Ukraine responsible for the accident, similar to the situation with the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion," the press bureau stressed.
Eying sanctions
The SVR pointed out that the timing of the UK attack is intended to be chosen so as to use the media effect from it to put pressure on the administration of US President Donald Trump.
"The aim is to force Washington, in defiance of its national interests, to impose the most severe secondary sanctions against Russian energy resources buyers, making them seen as ‘indirect culprits of the tragedy’," the statement said.
"It seems like nostalgia for the lost dominance at sea and for authorized-by-the-Crown pirate lawlessness have completely deprived the British Intelligence of the remnants of common sense. It’s high time for our British colleagues to understand that their increasingly bold attempts not only ‘to get back at’ their rivals, but also to cause damage to the global energy security and ecology are capable to make even their most loyal allies run out of patience," the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service concluded.
