We catch a lot of static about our position on children and birth control. It's like a lightning rod. And yes, we know this is not a "one-size fits all" topic.
But, understanding there are lots of situations to consider in marriage, one of the main reasons we take a stance against using birth control in most situations is because God says children are a blessing FROM HIM!
What Believer doesn't want a blessing from the Lord?
It seems a bit silly to say, “Lord, I know you say children are a blessing but rather than trust You to know when I should get pregnant and how many kids I should have, I think I know better than You. And when I think I’m ready I’ll let you know and you can hop to it.”
People, including most Believers, think nothing of using birth control today. They’ve been brainwashed to think they should wait to have kids until they have been married a while, or have a house, or can better afford them…the reasons are endless.
But so what if you have 10 kids—they’re eternal! God's blessings are eternal. Do you want a big house now or 10 kids forever?
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Col. 3:2
The only thing that matters 100 years from now are your children. Money, houses, careers and fame are temporal and mean nothing for eternity. And eternity is a long time!
God wants Believers to trust Him for EVERYTHING. That's how you mature in your faith and grow close in your marriage. If you start second-guessing God at the beginning of your marriage, it opens the door for a lot of non-biblical decisions.
People on their death-beds never say they wish they had spent more time in their life at the office.
One of the more graphic Biblical descriptions of a penalty for sin has to do with children.
“It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.” Luke 17:2
I never quite understood what a millstone was until I saw a 2000-year-old millstone in Israel on our first Holyland tour in 1994. All of a sudden the size of that thing tied to a human neck and thrown into the ocean showed me God is immensely protective of innocent children.
For too long we’ve had a quite cavalier attitude toward having kids and indiscriminately using birth control. It seems like it would be a slap to God’s face when He wants to bless us with His most precious creation but we say, "Naw, we're not ready."
... who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? Rom. 9:20b
If the Lord is so protective of children, we then, of course, also should be protective of them.
Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, “See, we did not know this,” does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work? Prov. 24:11-12
A new eye-opening movie, The Sound of Freedom, has just been released that exposes what is going on with child trafficking...which is taking place all around us…no matter what state or city you live. It brings to light a shocking underworld I knew little about. Some of what I learned was tough to watch.
Hopefully you can find time to see this movie. And do realize that the evil powers in control of our government are doing everything they can to put this movie in a bad light.

A new analysis of studies in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) flagship scientific journal found the agency promoted the effectiveness of masks using unreliable data with conclusions unsupported by evidence.
The preprint, published July 11 on MedRxiv, found the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) made positive findings about the efficacy of masks 75 percent of the time, despite only 30 percent of studies testing masks, and less than 15 percent having “statistically significant results.”
No studies were randomized, yet the CDC in over half of their MMWR studies, made misleading statements indicating a causal relationship between mask-wearing and a decrease in COVID-19 cases or transmission, despite failing to show evidence of mask effectiveness.
Of the 77 reviews cited in the agency’s MMWR used to promote masks, researchers found the following:
None of the 77 studies assessed after 2019 were randomized, and none cited randomized data. Randomized studies are the “gold standard” for determining whether an intervention or treatment is effective. Instead, the CDC most commonly used observational studies without controls or comparison groups.
