After returning home recently from a trip, we had a thought-provoking conversation with our twin 17-year-old granddaughters who had been house-sitting for us.
On one of the nights while we were gone, they invited a group of friends over for pizza and a movie and their friends commented that we had some “really old looking” things in our house. (Hopefully they weren’t just looking at family pictures).
One of our granddaughters explained to them that we've taken 60+ trips to Israel, and we've brought back artifacts from there over the years. Their friends apparently were surprised by that, and questioned her as to why we would ever want to go to Israel, and why would we support them at a time like this when they are causing so many problems in the world.
The interesting thing about this is that all of the kids in that group profess to being Christians and attend a very evangelical Bible study that meets once a week at their college.
Our granddaughters have either been homeschooled or attended a Classical Christian school all their lives until dual-enrolling at a local college this year.
They have a strong spiritual background from their parents and extended family, as well as having been consistently taught solid premillennial doctrine through churches and Bible studies.
They have both traveled with us on trips to Israel. (And having been passed down great genes, they're great basketball players...pic is after a big win this last year. -BP)
So their questions to us were honest and straightforward.
“OK, we know the Jews are God’s chosen people. We know He says He loves Israel, but what about right now? How do we answer friends who think Israelis are the bad guys?
“And why is Israel doing things right now that are upsetting so many people and so many Christians? And why are people like Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson bashing them?"
First of all, there’s a “big picture” answer to understanding why Israel always seems to be at odds with the world. It’s because they are!
It’s not enough to know that God loves Israel—it’s also critical to remember that Satan hates Israel. He always has. And since the Bible calls him the god of this world, of course he is at odds with God’s people.
And we are not casual bystanders in all this. We are actually the object of it all. God’s overarching desire is to rescue fallen men from the gates of hell, and He has used Israel mightily in that mission. Through Israel, He has given us His Word and His Messiah.
Satan’s goal is to keep people from ever finding that rescue.
the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2Cor. 4:4
So it's God and Satan, two sides of a 6000-year-old war.
Because Satan, in his rebellion, could never defeat God, he has tried instead to steal away the greatest treasure of God’s creation, the human race. But his efforts were thwarted by the first prophetic promise from God immediately after the Fall.
"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise him on the heel.” Gen. 3:15
Ever since Satan heard that prophecy of a future Messiah, he has done everything in his power to destroy the lineage that would bring it to pass.
So we shouldn’t be surprised that he has enlisted the fallen world to participate in his sweeping effort to prevent the coming, and the eternal influence, of the One who would ultimately crush him.
As a result, the list of persecutions against the Jews is long and tragic.
When the Jews were living in ancient Egypt, the King ordered the death of every male Hebrew child at birth. God intervened and protected Moses.
In ancient Persia, Haman tricked King Ahasuerus into issuing a decree allowing him “to destroy, to kill and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, women and children, in one day.” God intervened through Esther.
In Israel, Herod the Great ordered the death of every male child in Bethlehem, aged two and under, in his maniacal attempt to prevent the Messiah from threatening his kingship.
And even after Satan failed to stop God’s Son from coming, he attempted to corrupt His mission through the temptations in the wilderness, and His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
In that Garden, if Jesus, “being deeply grieved to the point of death,” had faltered for even one moment in His resolve, all would have been lost and we would all have been condemned for eternity to serve Satan. There was no backup plan.
Even after the Cross and the Resurrection, Satan, having lost the war, continued to wage his battle against God and Israel.
Even though the Messiah had been brought forth through Israel, and she failed to recognize Him, the plan was unfolding exactly as God had foretold in Daniel and numerous other Old Testament references. So Satan continued the persecution.
The short list:
Tens of thousands of Jews were massacred during the First Crusades.
Many more were killed during pograms in England.
In the 1300s, Jews were blamed for the Black Death plague in Europe, and “thousands were burned alive or massacred.”
Persecutions and murders followed them and forced them out of Spain, Portugal and later Russia.
The Nazi Holocaust captured, tortured, and ultimately murdered six million Jews throughout Europe.
Still reeling from that loss, Israel was finally granted their own Statehood as a nation, in their ancient God-given land, in 1948 by the UN, only to be attacked one day later by five surrounding Arab countries.
Since that time, they have had to remain diligent and alert against repeated wars, terrorists and threats, and constant warnings from their Arab neighbors that they will be destroyed “from the river to the sea.” Not land, not peace, just total annihilation.
Fast forward to October 7, 2023. Israel was invaded unexpectedly by Hamas terrorists who tore into homes and neighborhoods and brutally massacred 1200 Jewish residents.
These were not soldiers who were murdered—just mostly unarmed men, women and children who lived there or were attending a nearby concert, ironically celebrating friends, love, unity and freedom.
The documented and filmed accounts of what happened, and the demonic depths of torture inflicted on infants, children, mothers and fathers is almost unbearable to watch.
Except that people need to know. My granddaughters need to know.
Why all these persecutions against a tiny group of people living in a country the size of New Jersey? Most wars are fought over land, or power or possessions. Palestinians will say they are fighting over land.
Take a look at the map of the Middle East at the top of this article and you'll understand how absurd that claim is. Israel is a tiny sliver of land surrounded by huge masses of Arab territories.
If it really was about land, Israel’s decision to turn over Gaza to the Palestinians in 2005 would have resulted in the agreed-to peace.
Instead, in 2005 Gazans were given the right to vote and promptly elected a terrorist organization, Hamas, to govern them. They immediately commenced attacking Israel with rockets and continued assaults (20,000 rockets) that eventually culminated with the October 7th massacre.
At that point, Israel, decimated and heartbroken by that unprovoked disaster, and having to “negotiate” with terrorists for the return of their family members, or at least their bodies, finally strikes back and vows to end Gaza’s reign of terror.
The “world powers” were at first quiet, but after the dust settled they predictably began to condemn and blame Israel ...for being attacked!
On another front, if the conflict had ever really been about land or even rights, Palestinian Leader Yasser Arafat would never have walked out on the Camp David meeting with Bill Clinton and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in July 2000, after Barak agreed to concede to the Palestinian demands that were staggering in scope.
Israel agreed to all this in exchange for peace:
> A Palestinian State on 95% of the West Bank (Samaria) with a capital in East Jerusalem
> Right of return for all Palestinian refugees
> Full national sovereignty
> Gaza
> Control over the Temple Mount
Instead of accepting Israel's mind-blowing offer, Arafat simply got up from the table, walked out, boarded his plane and returned home to the Middle East. He then immediately called for an Intifada against the Jews which lasted five years and resulted in over a thousand innocent Jewish deaths.
What his actions signaled to the world was that it was never about concessions or negotiations. The PLO wanted nothing less than an excuse to obliterate Israel from the face of the planet, from "the river to the sea" (Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea). And that's what they want today.
So more often than not, the persecution isn’t about what the Jewish people do or what they have, but rather it stems from a visceral hatred of who they are and a denial of their very right to exist. Think Mohammed. Think Hitler.
Think Satan.
In our discussion one of the girls asked me why, in 2023 just after October 7, the world was supportive and sympathetic to the victims in Israel, and now, little more than two years later, the world is blaming Israel.
But that is not new either. The world seems to always suffer from global amnesia when it comes to the facts, and then defaults to blaming the Jews, no matter what the facts may be. Satan is good at manipulating. (Think “Eve.”)
The Holocaust Museum outside of Jerusalem has a long walkway whose walls on both sides are covered with actual pictures of Holocaust atrocities.
When you first enter the corridor, there is a framed photo of a message written by then General/ President Dwight Eisenhower. His expressed concern was that, without those documents as proof, one day people might begin to claim that the Holocaust never happened.
“Get it all on record now—get the films, get the witnesses—because somewhere down the track of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened."
Prophetic words!
Jewish people are not perfect. Even the name “Israel,” first bestowed on Jacob, means “striving with God,” but with prevailing. Their government is far from perfect. So is ours.
They continue to pay a high price for having rejected their God-sent Messiah. They are fulfilling prophecy by returning to their homeland, but in unbelief—they are the prophesied dry bones in Ezekiel 37.
But they have a future on God’s timeline, and they are a divinely crafted and chosen instrument of God in fulfilling His plan for the human race.
So when a secular body like the UN, or Israel’s enemies, or governments or media voices, or Hollywood, or even pastors or well-meaning friends try to intimidate those of us who support Israel, it’s nothing new. It’s been happening for thousands of years.
But it's worth taking the time to dig deeper and learn what the real facts are. Someone might ask you why you support Israel. You want to answer with what God says, not what the world says.
And if nothing else, just remember the big picture. God loves Israel. Satan hates them. And God has already won the battle. You want to always be on God's side.

A massive study out of Harvard and Boston University, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, followed over 70,000 people for up to 30 years and found that the most optimistic people live 11% to 15% longer than pessimists. They also have 50% to 70% greater odds of living to 85.
BP note: That means if you believe the Bible and that the Rapture will rescue us from the soon-coming horror, you’re going to be happier, live longer and healthier.
Of course, that makes sense because it’s unlikely that God would say “Trust the Bible" and then cause you to die sooner!

This is amazing. When they’re holding cancer conferences blaming all the turbo cancers on MRNA vaccines, we’ve crossed a line. It’s not a great chart, quality-wise, but from what I can see, over the last five years we've looked at most of those things on that chart in our weekly eNews.
Of course, they’re missing the rest of the equation—God and Satan. The worldwide distribution of a poison that is likely to end up killing hundreds of millions of people was purely satanic. And it was prophesied in the Bible.
Read Rev. 18 and every time you read "Babylon," instead read "USA." And at the end, where it says God's upset with this nation, the "USA," because her great men deceived ALL the nations of the world. Thankfully it's a post-Rapture wipe out.

Washington State's Senate Bill 5599, referred to as a "state-sanctioned kidnapping" law, empowers a child runaway to vanish into state-funded shelters and receive taxpayer-supported permanent "gender-affirming" interventions or abortions, without telling the parents.

According to Israel’s State Comptroller, approximately 279,300 adverse event reports submitted during the vaccination campaign by Clalit Health Services — Israel’s largest health provider — were never processed by the Ministry of Health (let's hope he's not worried about extra cash showing up in his bank account about this time).
These reports were not publicly examined during mid-2021, when vaccine eligibility was expanded to adolescents. They were not incorporated into real-time risk–benefit assessments. They were not disclosed to parents deciding whether to vaccinate their children.
Only years later, following repeated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, the raw dataset — containing 294,877 adverse event reports — was released.

We may be watching the fast-motion birth of a global digital currency that would replace all national currencies, including the dollar.
The Minnesota fraud story, with all its attendant developments, like recent HHS data dump, has surfaced a very difficult problem: How can we give deserving people food stamps and ensure they don’t either sell them to the Somalians at a discount, trade them for cigarettes and lottery tickets, or translate them into sacks of cash hauled through the Minneapolis airport?

There’s a simple answer staring everyone in the face, and you aren’t going to like it: A monitored digital currency would do it. Especially if you combine it with biometric IDs.

In theory, we could give SNAPpers a digital wallet that only they can use to buy food on the approved list. They couldn’t sell it or trade it. They’d just show up at the store, tap with their phone to pay, and press their forefinger on the print reader. Ditto for child care, Medicaid, you name it.

SNAP is practically a digital currency already anyway. Recipients receive electronic EBT deposits, not cash. The difference is that the EBT cards are untrackable and can’t be hardwired to a particular person.

Trackable digital currency is the solution to welfare fraud. It could save the country a trillion dollars a year. It’s a no-brainer. Democrats would love it because they long for a biosurveillance state, and Republicans would embrace it in order to DOGE the runaway welfare fraud problems. The fraud scandal was made to order to get it passed on greased rails.

Once the digital currency was working for welfare folks, it could expand. So that’s a digital currency, but not yet a global one.
To make a global digital currency work, you need internet access everywhere in the world, without outages. It would be pretty inconvenient if you strolled into a market at the cruise port to load up on braided knick-knacks, but the router was down, locking your digital coins in hyperspace.

So how can this be solved? What about putting the internet routers in space? Like with a constellation of up to a million internet satellites blanketing the globe? If only we had something like that.

In other words, everything —crypto power, internet satellites, financial regulation, political incentives, fraud scandals— it is all converging on a global digital currency, whether it’s centralized or decentralized, which might just be semantics anyhow.

One silver lining in all this is that the banks seem to hate it— even though they’d be allowed to play in crypto markets, too. You’d think the banks would love it, given their institutional advantages.

But in some way that I haven’t yet sussed, this somehow threatens to eat their enchilada. Could crypto break the banking cartel that has, for hundreds of years, ridden the world like a badly used donkey?

At the end of the day, digital currencies are as inevitable as AI, self-driving cars, and California wealth taxes, as well as politicians, royals, and celebrities caught with their pants down in the Epstein files.

So there is no point worrying about it. Besides, giving anyone cause to worry was not the point of today’s post anyway. Global digital currencies are coming whether anyone likes it or not.
After about four minutes in the exam room, she suddenly burst out screaming and ran out into the hallway.
