On June 7, 1967 Israel’s army broke through the Lions Gate and returned control of the ancient city of Jerusalem to the Jewish people for the first time since the time of Christ.
An Israel commando group almost decided to break through the Eastern Gate with explosives.
But at the last minute an appeal by an Orthodox Jew, who was the chaplain of the commando group, had protested vehemently pleading “the Eastern Gate can be opened only when the Messiah comes.”
So rather than breaking through the Eastern Gate, they moved a few hundred yards to the north and broke through the Lions Gate.
The Eastern Gate you see today was built above the original Eastern Gate, which is today underground, directly below the visible Eastern Gate you see today.
The Importance of the Eastern Gate Location
At the time of Jesus the Eastern Gate lined up directly with the Gate Beautiful—which was the entrance into the Jewish Temple compound on top of Mount Moriah.
The Gate Beautiful lined up with the Nicanor Gate which separated the Women's Court with the Court of the Israelites (men's court). From there the line of sight went all the way through the Temple doors to the curtain in front of the Holy of Holies.
Therefore, when the ashes of the red heifer were burned on the Mount of Olives across the Kedron Valley there was a direct line of sight from the Eastern Gate to the Holy of Holies, where God dwelled.
According to Jewish records, they would open the Eastern Gate, and then the Gate Beautiful inside the compound, then open the Nicanor Gate and then the door of the Temple.
The protective veil was drawn open, completing the direct line of sight from the Ark of the Covenant to the Red Heifer being burned to provide more ceremonially cleansing ashes for the Jewish Priests.
The Dome of the Rock is NOT in this Line of Sight!
The current Muslim Dome of the Rock, built some 600 years after the time of Jesus, is not located directly west of the Eastern Gate. Rather it is approximately 100 yards to the south on the foundation of the Temple of Jupiter.
Just after the Bar Kokhba Revolt in 135 AD, the Temple of Jupiter was built in Jerusalem on the Temple Mount by the Romans during the establishment of Aelia Capitolina, the new name the Romans gave to Jerusalem.
This false-god temple was part of Roman Emperor Hadrian's efforts to replace Jewish religious practices with Roman pagan worship in the city.
It was erroneously assumed that the Temple of Jupiter was built on the foundations of the demolished Jewish Temple.
The importance of the Eastern Gate not lining up with the Dome of the Rock cannot be overstated. It proves the Dome of the Rock is NOT built over the location of the 1st and 2nd Jewish Temples. And the Bible is probably referring to that fact here:
Then there was given me a measuring rod like a staff; and someone said, “Get up and measure the temple of God and the altar, and those who worship in it. Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations;" Rev. 11:1-2a
Therefore the new Jewish Temple could be rebuilt today without bothering the Dome of the Rock.
Post Rapture they could rebuild the Jewish Temple without touching the Dome of the Rock. And there's even room to add a Christian church to the north of the rebuilt Temple, and have all three major religions of the world on the Temple Mount.
The Graves Outside of the Eastern Gate
In the 16th century, the Ottomans rebuilt most of the original walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. While the walls were being rebuilt, a rumor circulated that the Jewish Messiah was on his way to Jerusalem.
According to tradition, upon hearing the rumor, Suleiman the Magnificent (whoever gave him that name surely got a raise), the leader of the Ottoman Turks, called together some Jewish rabbis and asked for details about the future Jewish Messiah.
The Jewish rabbis told Suleiman their Messiah would be a great military leader who would arrive from the east, through the Eastern Gate, and liberate the city from foreign control.
Suleiman immediately blocked-in the Eastern Gate and put a cemetery in front of it. He believed a Jewish holy man would not defile himself by walking through a Muslim cemetery.
The cemetery is still there today and the Eastern Gate remains closed. Of course, the Mussies have no clue they're dealing with the Creator God of the Universe. That cemetery will do absolutely nothing to stop Jesus from re-entering the Temple compound through the Eastern Gate as King of Kings.
The Jewish rabbis talking to Suleiman had obviously read this verse in the Old Testament Torah scriptures that the Eastern Gate would be closed when the Messiah came.
Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in! Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O gates, and lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in! Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Is 24:7-10
That verse is referring to Jesus’ Second Coming as a King and ready for battle. And when He returns, the Eastern Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem will open to receive him.
Here's another Old Testament prophecy says the Jewish Messiah comes to Jerusalem from the east.
Who is this who comes from Edom, with garments of glowing colors from Bozrah, this One who is majestic in His apparel, marching in the greatness of His strength? “It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” Is 63:1
Bozrah is an area in Edom that is east of Israel (present day Jordan). Petra is located in Bozrah, where the Jews will spend the last 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation reacquainting themselves with the Biblical truths of the Messiah.
Ezekiel also records a prophecy that mentions the Eastern Gate being closed.
Then He brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which faces the east; and it was shut. The LORD said to me, “This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no one shall enter by it, for the LORD God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut. Ezek. 44:1
Therefore, today the Jews believe the Eastern Gate will not be opened until their long-awaited Messiah comes.
Bible prophecy pundits, of course, know that the Messiah arrives at the end of the Tribulation which has been hidden from their eyes …for the moment.
The Eastern Gate has now been closed for 500 years. I doubt that the Ottomans knew they were fulfilling Bible prophecy when they bricked up that gate, but they were.
Mysteries of the Eastern Gate
The Old Testament prophecies about Jesus' Second Coming raise some questions to which I have yet to find the answers in Scripture. If you know the answers, please let me know.
Question #1
We know the Mount of Olives splits north and south when Jesus' feet touch down from heaven at the Second Coming.
In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. Zech. 14:4
When Jesus’ feet touch the top of the Mount of Olives the miraculous north to south split leaves a large valley named Jehoshaphat. This is where the nations of the world will gather for the Judgment of the Sheep and the Goats. (Matt. 25:31-46)
Hmmm... that makes me wonder...will the Mount of Olives split between His right foot and his left foot? If so, will He step to the right or left? If stepping left or right is what happens I’m guessing He'll move to the right. He's always right.
But if He stepped right or left, it would mean He would have to walk down the remaining mound left behind. (The mountains of the world are flattened at this same time so maybe it’s not very high.)
Or, rather than stepping left or right, Jesus could hop down on the descending land and ride it to the bottom where it's flattened into the Valley of Jehoshaphat.
Above is Mt. Moriah on the left, which will be raised, and Mt. of Olives on the right, which will be lowered.
Which Raises Question #2
As the mountains of the world are being flattened from the worldwide earthquake, Mount Moriah will be raised to be the tallest mountain in the world (actually the only mountain in the world during the Millennium).
Now it will come about that in the last days the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established as the chief of the mountains, and will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it. Is. 2:2
Jesus’ throne will be on the newly raised Mount Moriah with the 4th Jewish Temple—the Tribulation Temple having been destroyed with all the earth shaking. And it will have an Eastern Gate:
Then he went to the gate which faced east, went up its steps and measured the threshold of the gate, one rod in width; and the other threshold was one rod in width. Ezek. 40:6 (one rod = approximately 10 feet)
So to get to the top, does Jesus have to climb up the new height of Mount Moriah where His throne will be or does He ride it up while it is being raised?
Of course it’s possible He could just fly across from Olives to Moriah. Or, He could just appear there. We just don’t know how Jesus will move about in the Millennium. Although He did walk through a wall post-resurrection (John 20:19), so no telling!

Virtually every medical commentator on mainstream media has blindly accepted a false narrative that Hantavirus Andes strain readily spreads from person-to-person (P2P) in the community and for that reason those who came off the ship are under forms of biosecurity lockdowns or quarantines.
In the fact pattern, a Dutch man likely died of Hantavirus on April 11 and was kept on board until April 24. A second German man died and was kept on the ship during the WHO imposed lockdown from May 2 to May 8, 2024.
The only time the Hantavirus has been found in human secretions is from the oral cavity in ICU cases, many of whom died. Is it possible the dead bodies were the major source of contagion? Why are MSM commentators not mentioning rodents, a proven vector, and corpses a possible second source in their talking points?
What is the P2P theory based upon anyway? The Martínez et al. (2020) NEJM publication—which chronicles the 2018–2019 Andes virus (ANDV) outbreak in Epuyén—represents the primary cornerstone of the modern “person-to-person” (P2P) transmission hypothesis.
However, when scrutinized against rigorous systematic analysis, such as that provided by Toledo et al. (2022), the narrative foundational to the Martínez paper appears less like a settled scientific fact and more like an epidemiological inference driven by observational data gaps.

As Christians who believe in God’s prophetic Word in Scripture, we have a key piece of insight. Even if a deal of some fashion is reached (or better yet, regime change that embraces Israel and the West) lasting peace will not be the outcome.

45 major refinery explosions/fires reported over the last 90 days
Refineries keep exploding! More than 45 oil and gas refineries have reported fires and explosions globally in the last month and a half, marking a significant increase over what’s considered “normal” in the way of industrial accidents.
The drastic uptick in explosions is being racked up to warfare in places like Russia and “accidents” in the United States, Mexico, Australia, Romania and India.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east. Rev. 16:12
So the river is dried up by what the sixth angel does, not by man’s actions. So this is no big deal. Just more misery for those who live around the river, not prophetic fulfillment.
