If you believe in the Biblical doctrine of divine inspiration, that God inspired every word in the Bible, you WILL find yourself having to defend it. It just comes with the territory.
Most non-Christians, and even a lot of Christians, have been taught and accept the evolutionary model which takes God and the six days of creation out of the picture. The conclusion is that the Biblical account of creation is just a myth, a fable.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, Rom. 1:22
But if Genesis 1 isn’t 100% true as written, it casts doubt on the rest of God’s Word. If there is one error anywhere in the Bible, the whole thing is suspect.
Genesis 1 is the foundation of the Bible—it tells us where we came from and to whom we’re accountable. And if the foundation is destroyed, the entire building will fall.
Thankfully, if you know the facts, you can scientifically defend the Scriptures and the Lord Who inspired them. You can learn to boldly defend Genesis 1 to Revelation 22.
Take the Biblical account of the worldwide flood of Noah 4500 years ago.
[God] did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly 2Pet. 2:5
The account in Genesis 1 is literally scoffed at by most the world. It’s mainly scoffed at because to accept the account as accurate means the Bible is true, we have accountability to God, there is a judgment, etc. They can’t go there. So instead they scoff while using the magic ingredient of “time” to allow a way for rocks to change into humans.
Denying the worldwide flood account in the last days was prophesied some 2000 years ago. Peter said the time will come when ungodly men would mock the Bible and dismiss the truth of a global flood of judgment about 4500 years ago.
