A Believer has opportunities to win rewards at the Bema Seat Judgment of Believers’ works. I use the word “win” because that’s the way it’s framed by Paul.
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. 1Cor. 9:24
I think that's an amazing verse. Jesus says it's incumbent on us to live our lives like we're running a race. So what are the Biblical rewards and the rules for winning them?
Needless to say, we have to begin this study with the five specific crowns Believers can win that are listed in scripture (yes, a quick review for most).
The Incorruptible Crown is given to the Believer who gains mastery over the flesh. (1Cor. 9:24-25)
I don’t know too many people who seem to have this one figured out. I sure don't. And if Paul was wrestling with this one, I haven’t got a chance. 🙁
For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. Rom. 7:15
The Crown of Rejoicing is given to the one who loves witnessing. (1Thes. 2:19)
He who is wise wins souls. Prov. 11:30b
This is often incorrectly labeled as one who is a “soul winner.” In witnessing, the Bible says some people are used by God to plant seeds and others are used close the deal.
neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 1 Cor. 3:7
Therefore it’s God who’s in charge of someone’s salvation, not someone else’s works.
It’s those Believers who are looking for those opportunities to plant seeds or to water that which was planted who will receive this crown.
The Crown of Righteousness is for the Believer who endures trials. (Rev. 2:10)
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, James 1:2
It's "when," not "if" we encounter tough times. Everyone deals with difficulties in life. Nobody gets a free pass. So you might as well deal with them God‘s way.
There’s a whale of a difference between enduring a trial with a bad attitude / an unscriptural response, and enduring a trial knowing that God is in control, is allowing the trial, and will ultimately use it for good.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Rom. 8:28
In other words, this reward is given to a person who knows God is in control and is hoping to be used by Him regardless of the circumstances.
The Crown of Glory is given to Believers who are faithful pastors. (1Pet.5:4)
shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness. 1Pet. 5:2
There are good pastors, and there are bad pastors—I don’t think the bad pastors will get this crown.
If a pastor’s not teaching solid truth, I doubt they’re getting this crown. Shoot, a lot of pastors are not even Christians… just saying.
A good and faithful pastor is less concerned with the size of his church than he is the spiritual growth of those that God has given him to teach.
The Crown of Righteousness is given to those watching for the Rapture. (2Tim 4:8)
This one is interesting because God encourages Believers in every generation after the cross to be looking for Jesus coming in the sky to rescue them.
I don’t think there are any A-millennials who'll get this crown. They're waiting for the earth to burn up. Believers who know their Bible are looking forward to reigning with Jesus as King of the earth for 1000 years.
But what we learn from those crowns outlined above is that God is a rewarder to those who are putting Him first in their lives.
And since one day we get to cast our rewards at Christ’s feet, and because He came to earth and died for each one of our personal sins so we can go to heaven for eternity, we should be motivated by a thankful heart to serve him well during the time He has given us on this earth.
In addition to the Crowns, there may be other rewards/accolades given as rewards on Judgment Day. This is a possibility because Jesus is going to have Believers working for Him teaching His Will to the whole earth during the Millennium.
And since 100% of these humans who survive the Tribulation (or are born during the Millennium) will be sinners, that’s a lot of administration, even with Jesus ruling as a righteous King. No one will be disappointed with their Millennial role.
We know that Jesus, as God, knows everything about us. From every hair on our head and every thought we think, His decisions on where and what tasks we’ll be doing in the Millennium will obviously be based on His knowledge and evaluation of our earthly Christian walk.
So I guess prior to the Rapture, Believers are practicing for what’s ahead.
But it’s interesting that few people talk about the Bible teaching that spiritual rewards can be lost.
The fact is, we can be in line to gain a crown/reward, but then fall off the wagon and lose it.
‘I am coming quickly (suddenly); hold fast to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Rev. 3:11
Well, Satan is the god of this world, and he has his own demons and people followers. They all hate our guts as much as he does. They don’t want us to be alive, much less rewarded. They're successful if we lose our spiritual direction.
Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward. 2John 8
Paul explained with this comment about rewards (not salvation):
I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified. 1Cor 9:27
I must admit I haven’t thought much in the past about losing rewards. And Scripture is a bit vague on the subject. But if the Apostle Paul was concerned about losing his Judgment Day rewards, we too should understand how we could lose them.
Paul rhetorically asks:
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. Gal. 1:10
Therefore, it’s possible someone could be a great pastor headed to receive the pastor’s crown, but then get tripped up in adultery or whatever. It happens.
I wrote an article six or seven years ago titled “Believers and the Parable of the Sower.”(1) In the article I made the comment that Satan has two goals for every person:
>> His first goal is to keep people from getting saved.
>> His second goal is robbing those who get saved of spiritual blessings.
Those spiritual blessings would include receiving crowns/rewards on Judgment Day.
“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.” Rev. 22:12
The only way you can read that is that God will be evaluating us. But again, we’re talking about rewards, not salvation. Salvation is dependent on what God did, not what we do or don’t do.
What scripture is clear about is that we WILL be evaluated by God.
For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1Cor. 3:11-15
In the early days of the Church Age, living in the seacoast town of Corinth would have been similar to living in American seacoast cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, etc.
In other words, Believers would have been surrounded by lots of evil and lots of sin.
So Paul wrote two letters (possibly a third that is not part of the Canon) to the Corinthian church he planted there. In both inspired letters he warned the Believers about Jesus' evaluation of conduct for rewards on Judgment Day.
In his second letter he wrote:
For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. 2Cor 5:10
But there’s a major problem here trying to understand what the Lord’s judging. This is because anything we do in our own flesh is already considered filthy rags (Is. 64:6), worthless.
as it is written (in Psalms 14:1-3), “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;” Rom. 3:10
Therefore, the only thing that counts, the only thing that we can be rewarded for is what we allow Jesus to do through us.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Phil. 4:12
If our works are like filthy rags and we live as sinners 24/7, it seems unlikely that God's going to show a video of our life and have us hanging our heads over the things we did wrong. He already paid for them at the cross.
But He will reward us for the good things we allowed Him to do through us. He’s given each of us at least one gift—did we allow Him to use it? Did we learn to be sensitive to God's promptings?
Lost Rewards
Of course, another interesting question is: can a person who has fallen off the wagon, but repents and then stays the course... will he/she get that reward/crown back? Or are you out of the running for it and/or any future rewards?
Let’s start with the fact that the Lord is a forgiving God.
Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. Eph. 4:32
Noticed that “has” is present tense. That’s because all of your sins were forgiven at the cross 2000 years ago— past, present and future.
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Col. 2:14
Plus, Believers are always in sin 24/7.
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1John 1:8
Whether someone claims to be “without sin” for a brief period of time or claims they’ve reached a point they don't sin, it’s a false claim.
All Believers are sinners and will always be sinners. You can mature and more easily recognize Satan’s tricks and traps.
we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, Eph. 4:15b
But even as you mature, you're still a sinner from birth until you leave this planet.
That’s why we’re commanded to confess our sins to one another, cause we’re always having to deal with them. Don't you think it’s interesting that Jesus had a tight circle of two or three close friends?
In that same article about the Parable of the Sower, it discusses what happens if you take your eyes off Jesus after you get saved.
“The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, Luke 8:14
New Believers should always be cautioned that their lifelong goal is to understand God’s Word from cover to cover.
and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; Eph. 6:15
Otherwise they risk getting their eyes off of Jesus and onto the worries of the world. Which means they could end up losing rewards.
And having nothing eternal to show for their life on earth to lay at the Lord's feet.
That’s why we say, “Use us, Lord!”

The U.S. Supreme Court just reversed a lower court decision against a group of Amish parents and school leaders who challenged the state of New York’s vaccine mandates for schools, ruling that the appeals court must reconsider the case.
Today’s ruling is a win for health and religious freedom advocates — one that could have implications for other states that don’t allow religious exemptions from school vaccine mandates, attorneys said.
Attorney Sujata Gibson told The Defender today’s Supreme Court decision is “checkmate” for states that refuse to accept religious exemptions. “It means we’re almost certainly getting the religious exemption back, not only in New York, but across the country,” Gibson said.
And good news in Louisiana:
Gov. Jeff Landry has appointed Evelyn Griffin, a doctor who has worked on maternal mortality and voiced skepticism about vaccines, to be Louisiana’s next surgeon general.
“Her clinical experience, her leadership in advancing maternal health, and her dedication to strengthening the doctor-patient relationship make her the exact right choice for this role,” Gov. Jeff Landry said in a release Monday announcing Griffin’s appointment. “With Dr. Griffin stepping in, I’m confident Louisiana is in good hands and headed toward a healthier, stronger future.”
Griffin is a member of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, the top vaccine advisory panel to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She was appointed to the panel by U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

Nearly seven out of 10 U.S. adults now meet the criteria for obesity under a new, more comprehensive definition tested in JAMA Network Open.
The new standard — previously proposed by an international panel of experts in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology — goes beyond body mass index (BMI) to include waist and hip measurements that reveal hidden fat conventional BMI misses.
By doing so, it captures millions of Americans whose weight appears “normal” but whose fat distribution signals a higher risk for metabolic disease.
Obesity means more than simply carrying extra weight — it reflects a buildup of body fat that disrupts how your cells use energy.
Even with a normal BMI, fat that gathers deep in your abdomen and around your organs releases inflammatory chemicals that impair insulin function, raise blood pressure, and strain your heart and liver.
Obesity Is Not An Ozempic Deficiency!
80 percent of American adults are overweight or obese, rates of diabetes and prediabetes continue to climb, and the proposed solution is a drug that costs $20,000 per year, must be taken for life, causes severe gastrointestinal problems in many patients, and doesn’t address the root cause of the problem.
The fact that this drug was fast-tracked for government funding while metabolic disease continues to worsen reveals the moral bankruptcy of the system.
The drug works by paralyzing the stomach, preventing proper digestion.
This mechanism causes severe gastrointestinal problems in many patients. Nearly 3,000 lawsuits have been consolidated in the Pennsylvania federal court alleging gastroparesis, intestinal blockages, and ileus.
The FDA has updated Ozempic’s warning label multiple times since 2023—adding warnings for ileus in September 2023, severe gastrointestinal reactions in January 2025, and pulmonary aspiration during anesthesia in November 2024.
Even patients who receive the drug for free through insurance coverage cannot tolerate it. 30% discontinue use within 3 months despite full reimbursement.
The gastrointestinal side effects are that severe. Those who stop the drug regain the weight—a fact Novo Nordisk acknowledges.
The company markets Ozempic as a lifetime drug precisely because patients regain weight after stopping. This creates the perfect business model: a drug that never cures the condition it treats, ensuring permanent revenue.

Israel’s Iron Beam (“Magen Or” in Hebrew) laser defense system will begin defending against aerial threats at the end of the month, the country’s Defense Ministry announced on Monday.
“With development complete and a comprehensive testing program that has validated the system’s capabilities, we are prepared to deliver initial operational capability to the IDF on Dec. 30, 2025,” said Brig. Gen. (res.) Daniel Gold, head of the Directorate of Defense Research and Development at the Defense Ministry.
Speaking at the International DefenseTech Summit at Tel Aviv University, Gold said the system was a complement to the Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow air defense systems, and “is expected to fundamentally change the rules of engagement on the battlefield.”
The system uses a 100-kilowatt laser to intercept rockets, mortars and UAVs at a range of more than 6 miles (10 kilometers), at a fraction of the cost of traditional interceptors.
The estimated cost per firing is about $2 to $5, compared to $40,000 to $80,000 for a current single Iron Dome interceptor.
