Red Heifer Important Facts
Unfortunately, a lot of untruths have been circulating in the Christian community regarding the status of Israel’s Red Heifers. Here are the facts.
God’s Command:
Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,“This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded, saying, ‘Speak to the sons of Israel that they bring you an unblemished red heifer in which is no defect and on which a yoke has never been placed. You shall give it to Eleazar the priest, and it shall be brought outside the camp and be slaughtered in his presence. Next Eleazar the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle some of its blood toward the front of the tent of meeting seven times. Then the heifer shall be burned in his sight; its hide and its flesh and its blood, with its refuse, shall be burned. Num. 19:1-5
God commands the Jews to BURN an unblemished fully red heifer (cow). This is not an animal sacrifice, rather, an animal burning. This is not to make atonement for sin, but rather, to gain the ashes to be used to purify a person.
In the famous Daniel 9:24-27 prophecy, we know that the Jews WILL be making blood sacrifices in the Tribulation because the Antichrist will put a stop to them after the first 3 1/2 years (“middle”).
…in the middle of the week [middle of the 7 years of Tribulation] he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; Dan 9:27b
Israel Cannot Make Blood Sacrifices Without The Ashes
The main purpose of the ashes is to be used in purifying the High Priest to make atonement for his sins in order to carry out his duties for the Day of Atonement. To perform his duties he has to go behind the veil, where God dwelled, and consecrate Israel from sin.
The ashes are also used for cleansing of individuals who have become unclean from Biblical prohibitions like touching a corpse.
The one who touches the corpse of any person shall be unclean for seven days. … Anyone who touches a corpse, the body of a man who has died, and does not purify himself, defiles the tabernacle of the LORD; and that person shall be cut off from Israel. Because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is still on him. Num. 19:11-13
The New Ashes Must Be Mixed With The Old Ashes
It’s imperative that Israel have both the ashes from a new red cow AND the diluted ashes from the time of Moses to mix together.* Each of the last nine times Israel used up 2/3s of the red heifer ashes, they mixed the last 1/3 with the new ashes from a new red heifer burning.
This is sort of like an insurance policy, insuring the new ashes were connected, both physically (albeit quite diluted) and traditionally with the original Moses-era ashes.
Connecting the ashes back to Moses is a big deal as he’s considered by the Jews to be almost god-like. They use this verse to make their point:
“…My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household; With him I speak mouth to mouth, even openly, and not in dark sayings, and he beholds the form of the LORD.” Num. 12:7-8
There are other similar statements like Deut. 33:1 and Ps. 90:0 (Not a typo! "Ps. 90:0" See screen shot from my Bible on right)
Each time the ashes ran low, God provided another unblemished and fully red heifer to be burned. The next burning of the ceremonially clean all-red heifer will be the tenth red heifer burning.
The main thing to understand is that just having qualified new ashes is not sufficient to cleanse anyone. They have to find some of the old ashes and mix them together.
Otherwise, priestly duties could not be performed in a rebuilt 3rd Temple if no new ashes are mixed with the ancient ashes.
When the ancient ashes are eventually discovered, they’ll be mixed with the new ashes and water running into the Pool of Siloam and put in a vessel (jug/pot).
...ashes of the burnt purification from sin and flowing water shall be added to them in a vessel. Num. 19:17b
Where Are The Old Ashes?
At the moment, Israel has no idea where the old ashes from the last Temple (time of Christ) are located. But there are archeological expeditions currently excavating near the northwestern end of the Dead Sea.
The location of these archeological digs is near Qumran where the Copper Scroll was found. The Copper Scroll was the only scroll hammered out on copper instead of writing on animal skin. You have to think they wanted to make sure the info on the scroll was preserved!
The Copper Scroll includes the long list of the hidden Solomon’s treasures. It also says the container with the Red Heifer’s ashes was hidden along with the Temple gold and silver before Babylon conquered Jerusalem in 586 BC.
When eventually found, this would be far more valuable to the Jews than the hundreds of trillions of dollars worth of Solomon’s gold and silver hidden thousands of years ago.(1)
Where To Burn The Red Heifer
The above picture from the Temple Institute in Jerusalem gives you a good idea of where the ceremonially clean red heifer was burned—directly on a straight line from the Temple entrance/Golden Gate, across the Kidron Valley about 2,000 cubits, a “Sabbath’s day journey” (about 3,000 feet).
The original location of the heifer burnings is called the Miphkad Altar (means “appointed place”), and its location is either unknown or even possibly in the hands of the Muslims. If so, that’s an obstacle.
The picture above has a problem.
The Mishnah (a revered ancient Jewish commentary) describes the burning as an all-day process using a pit. This would make sense to keep the wind from blowing away the ashes. So the above pic is incorrect.
Texas Ships Five Red Heifers To Israel
Five female red heifers were sent to Israel from Texas, arriving September 15, 2022. Eventually, due to close inspection, two of them were disqualified... which is a bad description. The two were technically considered "non-potential."
A heifer is only "qualified" when one is needed to burn. Until then, the correct phrasing is that a heifer is either "potential" or "non-potential."
After inspecting and discovering a couple of warts on its neck, the one named Seguela was deemed "non-potential."
Another one, named Nehama, was deemed "non-potential" due to non-red hairs found on the tail.
It's been widely reported that all five heifers were disqualified (again, "qualified" or "unqualified" is poor wording!). This was explained to me as a translation problem in the interview that someone did with Rabbi Azarial Ariel, who works for the Temple Institute in Jerusalem.
Speaking in Hebrew to the reporter, there was a misunderstanding regarding the difference between being "potential" and "non-potential."
Because of all the misinformation about the heifers being potential to burn for the ashes, Rabbi Ariel is considering conducting another interview or releasing a clarification statement.
But the bottom line is that there are still three "potential" red heifers in Israel today.
A practice burn...
Sequela (that had the warts) was later used in a practice burning done by the Texans who brought the heifers to Israel. Observers said it was not overseen by the Temple Institute.
After burning the heifer, the Texans took some of the ashes and were selling them. The Jews in charge of the Temple Institute were, understandably, quite ticked off.
The four live remaining heifers, three currently deemed potentially acceptable, are currently being cared for in Shiloh, Israel, which is located about 20 miles north of Jerusalem.
Shiloh is where the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant resided from the time of Israel’s conquest (Joshua 18:1) until the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant (1Sam. 4), a total of 369 years.
The heifers have become such a tourist attraction that Israel’s Ministry of Tourism constructed a building next to the heifers’ pens. Visitors come into the room, watch a video about the Red Heifers and then the screen rises so people can take pics of the cows a few feet away.
I was able to track down the caretaker of the heifers in Israel—Larry. He says they’ve had groups as large as 1000 visit the red heifers' site, including Ambassador Mike Huckabee recently.
Age of Heifer Being Burned
The age of the heifer must be at least two years and a day to be used for the ashes of the red heifer burning ceremony. There’s no age limit above two years old, but the older they are, the less likely they will stay unblemished.
Maintaining The Heifer Herd
Heifers will fight, kick and/or bite each other. And if a scar is found, they’re obviously no longer unblemished and therefore become unqualified. So they're fed in one pen and live in front of the tourist display in the other. The floors consist of crushed limestone.
Caretaker Larry, who I was able to track down on the phone, has to purchase special food for the hefs because a normal hay bale usually has some weeds, dirt, rocks, or even wire mixed into the straw.
Buying clean, washed and packaged straw is sort of like buying individually wrapped organic food at the store…it's available, but expensive!
Larry feeds them twice a day, morning and night (including Shabbat/Saturdays), and in the middle of the day the hefs have their pics taken, sign autographs, etc. 🙂 (Just seeing if you’re paying attention!)
A Potential Heifer Can Be Born Anywhere
The heifers don’t have to be born in Israel as the first one in Moses’ day was from Egypt. That’s why the Jews readily accepted the donation of the five heifers from Texas.
There’s been no red heifer in Israel for the past 2000 years. The fact that today they have three potentially qualified candidates is amazing, and consistent with the Church Age coming to a close when God begins dealing with Israel again on the front burner.

Well now, this is quite interesting...
President Trump is pulling together 10 nations to oversee a Gaza peace plan. He has six nations on board so far: Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Italy and Germany.
Daniel's image (Daniel 2) shows that in the last days there will be 10 nations (the 10 toes of the statue) that will come together, five toes from Europe/Rome/the western leg and five toes from the Middle East/Istanbul/the eastern leg.
So it's REALLY interesting to see that of the first six of these nations, so far, three are coming from Europe and three from the Middle East.
I have no idea if this will eventually fulfill the Daniel 2 prophecies, but it sure is interesting!

A peer-reviewed study published in Oncotarget reports that an orally administered ethanolic lemongrass extract (Cymbopogon citratus at ~80 mg/kg/day) dramatically suppressed tumor growth in a human lymphoma xenograft mouse model, while selectively inducing apoptosis in cancer cells and sparing normal cells.
In immunocompromised mice implanted with human non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (U-937) cells, animals receiving ethanolic lemongrass extract in their drinking water for three weeks developed dramatically smaller tumors than controls — with tumor growth suppressed by approximately 95% based on volume and mass measurements. Importantly, no weight loss or overt toxicity was observed during treatment.

A new study found residual DNA in Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.
A new laboratory analysis of commercially available mRNA COVID-19 vaccines found that residual DNA fragments — including sequences linked to the spike protein gene — remain in the final vaccine products.
According to the researchers, the DNA fragments exist in forms that standard regulatory testing methods don’t typically detect.
The researchers concluded that commonly used quality-control tests can underestimate total residual DNA by more than 100-fold, because the tests fail to detect DNA bound in RNA:DNA hybrid structures.
Their attempt to poison the world was more effective than we thought. Hopefully we're Raptured out before we begin to see too much death from the poison injected worldwide.

A systematic review of 69 studies and reports on COVID-19 and cancer identified a possible safety signal linking COVID-19 vaccines and SARS-CoV-2 to certain types of cancer.
The study identified safety signals for leukemia, lymphoma, breast and lung cancer. The authors of the paper, published last week in the journal Oncotarget, said their findings suggest the need for further research.
The paper identified mechanisms — including the spike protein and DNA contamination found in some COVID-19 vaccine types — that might be responsible for triggering cancer.
The authors also addressed “several recurrent themes” in the studies they examined:

A class action lawsuit claiming that Depo-Provera, Pfizer’s popular birth control injection, caused brain tumors, is headed to trial.
A total of 2,132 women who developed brain tumors joined the class action lawsuit, which was filed in 2024. The women claim Pfizer knew that long-term use of Depo-Provera is linked to benign, though debilitating and potentially incurable brain tumors, but the drugmaker didn’t warn patients or regulators.
“Defendants willfully, wantonly, and intentionally conspired, and acted in concert, to ignore relevant safety concerns and to deliberately not study the long-term safety and efficacy of Depo-Provera, particularly in chronic long-term users of Depo-Provera,” the complaint states, according to an excerpt quoted by NBC News.
According to the Daily Mail, Depo-Provera “contains progestin, a synthetic version of the hormone progesterone, which prevents pregnancy by stopping ovulation and thinning the lining of the uterus.” The injection is administered every three months.
No surprise.
With the obvious exception of how all this is tied to Bible prophecy, I thought this was an interesting recap...

Cuba is on the verge of economic collapse, and there’s no immediate relief on tap from longtime patron Russia or Cuba’s biggest trading partner, China.
Its tenuous ties to nearby Mexico are likely to be severed soon, leaving the island nation seemingly out of options for replacing the discounted oil it imported from Venezuela to fuel its economy and provide the communist regime with hard currency.
“The people in control in Cuba have a choice to make,“ Rubio said. ”They can either have a real country with a real economy, where their people can prosper, or they can continue with their failing dictatorship that’s going to lead to systemic and societal collapse.”
‘Things Falling Apart’
Because heavily discounted crude oil from Venezuela is now under the management of the Trump administration, since the Jan. 3 raid that captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez’s choices are limited.
Food, medicine, and fuel shortages are a fact of daily life.
Rolling blackouts often cripple its antiquated grid for hours, forcing “non-essential” workplaces and schools to close, straining its struggling agricultural and tourism industries, Cuban state-run news website Cubadebate reported.
“So you’ve got all these things falling apart, and it gets to be connected with, ‘Well, OK, how long is the government of Cuba going to last?’” said Gregory Copley, president of the Washington-based International Strategic Studies Association and an opinion contributor to The Epoch Times.
“Like Venezuela, the answer to that is ‘not very long.’”
Cuba has survived decades of U.S.-imposed sanctions since Fidel Castro led a 1959 revolution that established communist rule.
