But Christians are called to be discerning of the political rhetoric. We have the Holy Spirit of Truth living in us to guide us through the mire.
"For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God." 1 Cor. 2:10
Therefore, as our nomination process unfolds, it's important to keep in mind that all politicians are sinners. All have all sinned in the past and all will sin in the future. Our duty as Christians is to vote for who we THINK will most likely govern along Biblical principles.
"choose for yourselves today whom you will serve:" Joshua 24:15
At this critical juncture of our nation, it's vitally important for all Believers to take voting seriously, as it IS a gift from God. Our God-given Republic seems to be hanging on by a thread. So do vote while you can still vote!
Sadly, only half of all Christians vote. If every Christian voted, it would make a huge difference in the kind of people we elect to govern us. Huge! So make voting a priority for everyone in your family!
But more importantly, prayer is what we need most.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Phil. 4:6
God is still in control and we need to ask Him to elect a leader that would allow this nation one more revival. God gave Nineveh the opportunity to turn away from debauchery and back to Him. It's not too late for us either.
Do you believe this is possible? I do, if God wants it. And it's never wrong to ask the right thing. Who knows what the Lord might allow.
Use us, Lord!
