The Identity Of The First Witness

We know one of the witnesses is Elijah. He was taken alive to heaven in 850 B.C. but prophesied to return at the beginning of the Day of The Lord. 

As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven. 2Kings 2:11

The last words of the Old Testament promised the Jews that Elijah would show up before God's wrath...what we know to be God's 7 years of Tribulation.

Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD. Mal. 4:5

On Passover each year, many Jews are prophetically inspired to set an extra Passover plate at the family table in case Elijah shows up. It’s tradition to ask the children to check the door to see if Elijah is there before they eat Passover. 

The Identity Of The Second Witness

Because the Jews tie their earthly deliverer, Moses, to the future Messiah who will rule the world, and the fact that the 2 Witnesses do a lot of things Moses did, many incorrectly assume the second witness to be Moses. 

The problem is, the two witnesses die at the mid-point of the Tribulation and Moses has already died. Scripture even says God buried him. 

So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. And He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor; but no man knows his burial place to this day. Deut. 34:5-6

And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, Heb. 9:27

Some think the second witness is Enoch. He, like Elijah, was simply taken to heaven without dying. 

Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him. Gen. 5:24

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; Heb. 11:5

The reason Enoch cannot be the 2nd Witness is that he is not Jewish — he was taken before the flood, before Abraham.

Why The 2nd Witness is John

I am 100% convinced the second witness is John the disciple whom Jesus loved. John wrote the Book of John, 1st, 2nd and 3rd John and the Book of Revelation, second in New Testament words only to Paul’s 14 letters. And John was one of Jesus’ closest friends.

Here are the reasons he’ll be the 2nd Witness:

1) John personally testifies that he is one of the 2 Witnesses.

Due to an unfortunate man-made chapter break, the fact that John identifies himself as one of the 2 Witnesses is easy to miss.

Most of the info on the 2 Witnesses is based on information from Revelation 11. But rather than beginning with the first verse of Chapter 11, if you back up to the last verse in Chapter 10 and read it like it’s the first verse of Chapter 11, John emerges as one of the Two Witnesses.

And they said to me [John], “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.” Rev. 10:11

Then there was given me [John] a measuring rod like a staff; Rev. 11:1a

There is no record of John ever prophesying concerning people, nations and kings worldwide after he penned the words in Revelation. Therefore this is an unfulfilled prophecy—so far. He would have to be the 2nd Witness to fulfill that prophecy. 

2) There are historical records of each of Jesus’ Apostles’ deaths, all martyred … except John.  

•  Peter — Crucified upside down in Rome (under Nero).

•  Andrew — Crucified on an X-shaped cross in Patras, Greece.

•  James (son of Zebedee) — Beheaded by Herod Agrippa I in Jerusalem (Acts 12:1–2).

•  Philip — Crucified (or martyred) in Hierapolis (Turkey).

•  Bartholomew (Nathanael) — Flayed alive and/or beheaded in Armenia.

•  Thomas — Speared to death in India.

•  Matthew — Stabbed or beheaded (traditions vary; often Ethiopia or Persia (Iran*).

•  James (son of Alphaeus) — Stoned or clubbed to death in Jerusalem.

•  Thaddaeus (Jude / Lebbaeus) — Clubbed or killed with an axe in Persia (Iran*) /Syria.

•  Simon the Zealot — Crucified or sawn in half in Persia (Iran*).

•  John — no record of death or martyrdom. 

(Iran*—It's interesting that three of Jesus' disciples were murdered by Persians/Iranians. So they have been a wicked bunch long before Mohammad began the Islamic religion in 600 AD.)

And keep in mind that John is receiving the Book of Revelation while banished to the Isle of Patmos. He had been incarcerated in Ephesus where they tried to boil him alive, but couldn’t. 

In 200 AD widely respected Christian apologist Tertullian wrote:

“….the Apostle John was first plunged, unhurt, into boiling oil, and thence remitted to his island-exile.”

3) Jesus asked John to take care of His mom after His death, presumably knowing John would outlive her. 

standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved [John] standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household. John 19:25-27

4) But the clincher-reason is Jesus Himself said John would not die until after He returns. 

In the last couple of verses of the Gospel of John, when Jesus was discussing how His disciples would die, Jesus said John would not die until the time of His return. 

So Peter … said to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man?” Jesus said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!” Therefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?” John 21:21-23

Jesus says He wants John to remain alive until He returns. Not that John won’t die, because the 2 Witnesses do die. And the Bible corrects the rumor that John wouldn't die. John's been waiting with Elijah for 2000 years to come back to earth. 

So you have Elijah and John, both taken alive from the earth to heaven until they both show up BEFORE the great and terrible Day of the Lord. One from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament.

It's interesting that Malachi 4:5 says Elijah will show up "Before” the Day of the Lord begins. Wouldn't it be interesting if they show up 7 days before Rosh Hashanah?(1) If so, that’s our 7-day warning!(2) Wouldn’t that be interesting!

The 2 Witnesses will prophesy for 1260 days, which is the entire length of the first half of the 7-year Tribulation.

What’s interesting about this info is that if we’re still here in October this could be part of the USA’s  incredible economic expansion and worldwide influence for the next 7 years. Instead of a massive Three Mile Island type facility, we could safely be popping out nuclear electricity all over America… beginning next year!

As I've often said, if we're still here in October 2026, and I think we will be, the USA will grow into a much more dominant and influencing nation than we are today....culminating in 2033.*

* 2033 assumes Jesus' crucifixion was in 33 AD + 2000 years of the Church Age. Some good Bible scholars believe He was crucified in 30 AD.

This retrospective cohort study analyzed 1,431 consecutive patients undergoing routine outpatient echocardiography at an Italian cardiology clinic from 2018 to 2022, comparing pre-pandemic and pandemic periods.

The headline finding is stark: pericardial involvement on echo jumped from 22.0%(101/459) pre-pandemic to 68.8%(463/673) during pandemic years — a more than threefold increase.

Multivariable analysis revealed that SARS-CoV-2 vaccination was independently associated with roughly doubled odds of pericardial abnormalities (OR 2.08, 95% CI 1.29–3.35, P = 0.003), comparable to the risk from COVID-19 infection itself (OR 1.99, P = 0.012).

Critically, the temporal pattern is revealing: odds ratios relative to 2018 were 1.86 in 2020, then exploded to 6.95 in 2021 and 6.73 in 2022 — precisely when mass vaccination took full effect across the population.

The dose-response analysis confirmed one and two doses each independently raised pericardial involvement risk (OR ~2.1), while the interaction analysis showed vaccination and infection operated through overlapping inflammatory pathways.

The study captured not just clinical pericarditis but minimal and residual pericardial alterations — small effusions, thickening, hyperechogenicity, fibrinous strands — exactly the kind of subclinical findings that passive surveillance systems miss.

The authors themselves note that nearly 70% echo positivity during pandemic years suggests “many cases are asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, escaping passive surveillance.”

This is precisely the phenomenon McCullough, Mead, and Hulscher (2025) characterized in their comprehensive review of COVID-19 vaccine-induced subclinical myopericarditis.

They described a pathophysiological cascade in which mRNA vaccine-generated spike protein circulates systemically, triggers innate immune activation with CD68+ macrophage infiltration of myocardial and pericardial tissue, and produces low-grade inflammation that falls below the threshold of clinical detection yet is readily apparent on imaging.

Their review documented that this subclinical cardiac injury — detectable by echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and elevated troponin — affects a far broader population than the rare cases of fulminant myocarditis captured by VAERS and other passive systems.

The Salvucci data, showing nearly 7 in 10 va((inated patients with echo-detectable pericardial involvement by 2021–2022, provides real-world clinical validation of McCullough’s thesis: what the medical establishment dismissed as “rare and mild” was in fact widespread and simply uninvestigated.

(What we still don't know is what percentage of va((inated people have continuously growing tissue clots in their veins and arteries.)

Oil prices may fluctuate day to day.

But the fundamental problem facing the oil market cannot be solved with derivatives, interest-rate cuts, newly created money, or manipulating the market.

A massive volume of oil has been removed from the global market as the Strait of Hormuz is essentially closed.

That supply will not be easily replaced.

Alternative pipelines have limited capacity. Spare production cannot be activated overnight. Tankers, ports, refineries, and storage facilities all face physical constraints.

Governments can print currency. They cannot print a barrel of oil. Governments may try to paper over the consequences, but physical shortages cannot be solved with printed money.

That is why the current disruption is far more dangerous than an ordinary geopolitical scare.

The early effects are already appearing across parts of Asia: fuel restrictions, flight cancellations, rationing, travel limits, and emergency conservation measures.

And even if Hormuz fully reopens, supply chains, shipping schedules, and depleted inventories will take a long time to normalize.

Oil can disappear from the market quickly. Replacing it is much harder.

At this point, an energy crisis appears all but guaranteed.

The only questions are how severe it becomes—and when the broader investing public recognizes it.
