Steeling the Mind Conference, a look back…
I marvel that this weekend is our flagship conference’s 31st year of steeling Believer’s minds to be better used by the Lord in this satanically stolen world.
When we started the conference in 1993, Susie and I had been living in Vail, Colorado for 10 years. We had moved there with our pastor to plant a church that I had named Vail Bible Church. (It was renamed after I moved away to "Vail Church.")
Due to my excellent marketing and advertising skills our first Sunday church service began in a rented room in the public library. But only one person showed up. So there Susie and I sat with the pastor’s wife, their two children and the one visitor.
The next week, again we only had one person show up. It was six months before we had 10 people. By the time Susie and I moved to Coeur d’Alene 10 years later, we had about 500 people attending—about 10% of the 5,000 year-round residents. Go, God!
Interestingly, the husband of that lady who showed up that first Sunday got saved 10 years later. A couple of years later he went home to be with the Lord. Look forward to seeing him one day.
As a typical entrepreneur I started several businesses while in Vail—some good, some bad.* Much of what I learned has been useful in ministry. Eventually God laid it on my heart to organize a conference to present Bible-connected material most churches seemed to be ignoring.
I discussed the conference idea with Chuck Missler and he suggested I name it, "Surviving the Nineties." But My wife Susie came up with a better name, "Steeling the Mind" based on Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."
For the very first conference, we had a great prayer team that was tasked with praying for the weather as we had rented an outdoor theater.
Literally all day it was rainy everywhere in Colorado EXCEPT where the conference was being held. One small blue patch of sky never moved from being centered over us. Thank you, David!!
This was liberal Colorado so there were six or eight protestors who came to the entrance gates with air horns to disrupt the speakers.
I had a stout muscular friend who told them in no uncertain terms they could stand and listen but if they blew those horns he was coming after them. Nary a sound came from them and they left about an hour later. Thank you, Jeff!!
Trying to get a conference off the ground in an area that had few Believers residing year round was not an easy task. But one of the speakers liked the idea so much he advertised it in his fledgling newsletter to people nationwide and the rest is history. Thank you, Chuck!!
And God was gracious in Steeling having the best and brightest speakers over the years. Chuck Missler could make stacking rocks highly interesting. And Frank Peretti's brilliance combined
with his unique style of "Italian overheads" made his videos spread far and wide.
To this day, our most-requested Steeling video is Frank's entertaining "The Chair" about a Believer's need for a fixed point of reference. He followed it up with The Chart, which is also hilarious! I think he's spoken 10 times over the years.
If you're new to Frank Peretti, we made a "Best of Frank Peretti" video—one hour of his best lines non-stop. And do notice all the online videos are free. This is because the Lord has kept Compass going by bringing alongside numerous supporters through the years. Two families in particular that have been astounding.
I've tried to make the conference topics edge of the envelope. Things important to Believers but not what you normally hear in a Sunday sermon. Here are some of the topics of that first conference in Vail in 1993:

Those are amazing topics considering it was 31 years ago! The topics were so radical, and the information presented so thoroughly, that some people actually told me they thought there was no hope.
So the next year I changed the name from Steeling the Mind of America to Steeling the Mind Bible Conference. I toned down the in-your-face topics, added evangelism (John Ankerberg) and began including apologetics presentations to the mix—Henry Morris was first. 
Of course who could ever forget Josh McDowell explaining why the Bible says men like breasts!
More recently we've often had the big three— Andy Woods, Russ Miller and Dave Reagan, who I believe are the top-three most gifted and effective Christian conference speakers today. Andy on Rapture, Russ on the Flood of Noah and Dave Reagan on Israel, none better!
The Great Baptism
I have to mention the memorable second year of Steeling. We rented one of Vail’s chair lifts to take everyone up to the top of the mountain the last day. I was expecting a beautiful mountain-top experience.
It began beautifully with the scenic Colorado mountains as a backdrop. Unfortunately, not long after the first speaker began, a monsoon began moving up the valley. 1000 people had no place to shelter and were fully drenched. I mean quite soaked.
I once referred to that as the "Great Mountain-Top Baptism" and, of course, was corrected by my Baptist friends that no one was submerged so it did not count as a baptism! Good grief.
The entire speaker list through the years is interesting to read. We’ve had a wide range of different speakers. In addition to great Bible teachers we've had congressmen, movie stars and lots of best-selling authors. CLICK HERE to access the speaker list.

This initiative not only legitimizes but also financially supports medical interventions that have irreversible consequences for individuals, particularly minors, navigating gender identity issues.
By pushing for taxpayer and insurer funding, the administration is effectively bolstering a system that prioritizes ideological agendas over scientific evidence and parental rights, further perpetuating the risks associated with Medical Mutilation.
It's crucial to resist this radical agenda. Let’s label this for what it really is - an attack on our children - our future - that we MUST stand against!
Recent efforts in the House have aimed to slash funding for these complication-ridden practices, a crucial step in halting the propagation of these deceitful ideologies. We must defund harmful procedures and surgeries to dry up this exploitative industry and protect our families from its devastating grip.
We fully anticipate facing opposition, attacks, censorship, and malicious attempts to malign our cause. We understand this and we are ready to face them head-on.

However, we should all strive to obtain a complete understanding of what happened, and to share this understanding with our friends and families. This is our only chance at stopping an iteration of this massive organized crime from happening again.
On Friday, March 15, 2014, Dr. Peter McCullough will testify to the NOVEL CORONAVIRUS SOUTHWESTERN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE in the Arizona State Legislature about the deadly hospital protocol that was adopted nationwide during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The hospital protocol consisted of the following:
1) Hospitals absolutely refusing to administer life-saving FDA-approved drugs such as methylprednisolone (for pulmonary inflammation), high dose aspirin and other blood thinners (for micro blood clotting) and ivermectin (an antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and anti-coagulant).
2) Insisting that gravely ill, hospitalized patients receive Remdesivir, for which hospitals received a 20% bonus on the entire hospital bill—probably the most crass form of racketeering in US corporate history!(1)
3) After the above nihilistic and lethal protocol failed to work—as it invariably did not—hospitals would intubate the patient, paralyzing and sending over 50% to their death on a ventilator that did nothing to treat the underlying problem—i.e., blood clots in the lungs.

Another country, Nepal, has just announced it will submit to the global beast system and digitally mark all of its citizens starting at birth.
I’ve reported on similar moves in many other countries including Australia, the E.U., Ghana, and China, all characterized by a biometric digital ID. The United Nations itself is organizing a global effort to digitally register all births worldwide.
Now, the government of Nepal will require the digital identity of its citizens as it starts assigning them digital ID numbers at birth. This is the so-called “birth registration” that I’ve been warning about for years as it was included in the United Nations Agenda 2030 document signed in 2015 by more than 190 heads of state, including Barack Obama, as part of its “sustainable development goals.”
I knew early on that the “legal identity” and “birth registration” required by the UN system would be digital, even though the word “digital” did not appear in the original document.
As reported by the Nepal newspaper, The Kathmandu Post, the Department of National ID and Civil Registration has started issuing digital numbers to pave the way for wider adoption of the national digital identity cards.

People who tested positive for COVID-19 and took ivermectin as a treatment recovered faster than a comparison group, a new study found.
The time to self-reported recovery was a median of two days faster among the ivermectin recipients, according to the large UK study.
The quicker recovery period was statistically significant.
People who received ivermectin were also less likely to be hospitalized or die, with 1.6 percent of ivermectin recipients being hospitalized or dying versus 4 percent of the comparison group, which received typical care, which in the UK is largely focused on managing symptoms.
Ivermectin recipients also enjoyed a reduction of severe symptoms and sustained recovery, according to the study.
China casts a longer shadow on Hollywood productions than you might think. Of the one hundred highest-grossing movies released between 2014 and 2018, 41 had Chinese investors.

For years, Beijing has exerted an insidious creative pressure on American filmmakers to make China look strong and the United States appear weak by comparison. Communist values like collectivism are championed while American-style individualism is ridiculed.
The Paramount movie even has an American bad guy, played by Stanley Tucci. He is ultimately defeated by a Chinese woman named Su Yeming (played by actress Li Bingbing), who is working alongside hero Mark Wahlberg.
The Kung Fu Panda movies were produced by DreamWorks Animation, which was headed by Jeffrey Katzenberg. Under his leadership, the studio grew closer to China, announcing plans to construct a $330 million studio near Shanghai.
Katzenberg even sat down with Yu Zhengsheng, the chief of the Shanghai CCP, who encouraged him to produce “cultural products” that would help China’s image.
The result was Pearl Studio, which is majority owned by Chinese companies.
His comments come days after an ABC/Washington Post poll showed former President Donald Trump (R) leading Biden by seven points in a general election rematch.

The Scientific American article explained that a broad range of incurable autoimmune diseases — over 100 kinds — have suddenly, unexpectedly, and bafflingly surged to epidemic levels:
Autoimmunity is an epidemic. Most autoimmune diseases are being diagnosed in increasing numbers ranging from 3 to 12 percent annually across the globe. (Americans) could now have about a one in five chance of developing an autoimmune disease. The odds are greater for women, those with a genetic predisposition to autoimmunity, or those exposed to certain pollutants. These diseases include more than 100 lifelong and costly illnesses such as type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and multiple sclerosis. They are often difficult to diagnose and currently impossible to cure.
The doctors mentioned that, unlike long covid, autoimmunity is measurable. They can test for looming autoimmune problems by testing for autoantibodies, which are antibodies programmed to attack the person’s own cells and organs, rather than programmed to attack some kind of invasive bacteria or virus:
Autoantibodies are markers for the presence, or the possible development, of autoimmune diseases. We are finding more people with autoantibodies—immune system proteins that, instead of ignoring our cells and organs, treat them as invaders.
Now, I’m just a lawyer and not an immune specialist, but I wonder if these researchers considered the possibility that the autoantibodies may be targeting people’s own cells because they were transfected with spike protein mRNA?
I’m only asking.
The researchers noted the fact that, one year before on December 29, 2022, the Biden Administration quietly and very timely set up a new Office of Autoimmune Research within the NIH. So they either saw the trend or knew it was coming.
Mainstream media is happy to drown us in propaganda about a flu epidemic but they have nothing to say about an autoimmune epidemic. Oh well. La, la, la, la, everything is going great!
The pace of FBI arrests and the opening of new Jan. 6 criminal cases quickened so much in late 2023 and early 2024 that District of Columbia federal courts could bend under the weight.
In the past two months, 93 people have been arrested and charged, according to Department of Justice (DOJ) reports.
At the current rate, some 445 new cases could hit the docket in 2024—more than in 2022 and 2023, according to one estimate.
In total, up to March 6, at least 1,358 people have been arrested by the FBI and criminally charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for crimes related to Jan. 6.
William Shipley, a former federal prosecutor who has represented more than 50 Jan. 6 defendants, said he noticed an upswing in cases starting in September 2023.
I don't think most people understand the long-term penalty for unrepentant lying. Just saying....

What happened with COVID, claiming shots were the answer, has changed how we think about docs recommending ANYTHING!

A paper caught my attention on the issue of COVID-19 vaccination in healthcare workers. Chaufan and Hemsing used a “What is the problem” framework to search the literature on this issue and understand the “dominant representations” of healthcare institutions. There conclusions were stunning from a social science perspective.
“We conclude by noting that an apartheid-like system has been imposed on “HCWs for simply demanding the free exercise of their human right to informed consent, enshrined across classic documents (Shuster, 1997; UNESCO, 2005; World Medical Association, 1964). Informed consent includes the right to be fully and honestly informed about the risks and benefits of, and alternatives to, any medical intervention, to be offered the alternative to do nothing, and to be able to choose free from coercion. We have also argued that mandated vaccination for HCWs, or any other social group for that matter, is at odds with the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusivity, held normatively in high esteem by the same institutions that appear to be participating in subverting them in practice (CDC, 2023; Health Canada, 2017; NHS Leadership Academy, 2024; WHO, 2023a). A comprehensive evaluation of all relevant scientific, ethical, and legal aspects of the policy of mandated vaccination for HCWs is beyond the scope of this study, of our personal resources and capabilities, and of any single study. We trust however that our work can still contribute to a better-informed public debate around mandated vaccination and around COVID-19 policy more generally moving forward.”
Even if the vaccines were safe and effective, one would conclude from this analysis that vaccine mandates should have no role in organized medicine. The violations of medical ethics overwhelm the argument of community benefit.
Of course they did.
To commemorate the Islamic period of Ramadan, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris reached out to Muslims to express sympathy for the pain they’re feeling at having failed to kill all the Jews.
