Verse of the Day — 2 Corinthians 11:14

. . . even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Satan doesn’t have horns and a pointy red tail!

To guard against Satanic influence in your daily walk, it is imperative that you first assess whether you are dealing with a Christian or a non-Christian. You are either witnessing or fellowshipping with literally everyone you interact with each day. And the Bible warns that some of the people you think are Christians are actually false teachers, false pastors, or are teaching a false gospel.

Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?” And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.” —Matthew 7:21-23

Satan is the great deceiver, and so are his agents:

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. —2 John 7

So, be wise to those who claim Christ but act otherwise. They may use Christian words like Jesus, God and the Bible, but in truth, they are part of the dark side.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. —Ephesians 6:12

Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. —Matthew 7:15

Dear Compass,

I am a Christian, and my husband is Muslim. He is searching spiritually and is very open to exploring Christianity. What is the best way to witness to those of the Muslim faith?

We’ve had several questions about the Muslims, so first a little background.

Islam was founded by Mohammed in around 600 AD. He claimed he received supernatural revelations from God (Allah) through the angel Gabriel. His revelations were written down and compiled into a book called the Koran and is the “bible” to about one billion Muslims. Their ultimate purpose is to conquer the world and then rule it according to Muslim law.

The Muslim faith claims to biblically connect with Abraham and his first son, Ishmael, conceived through his maid Haggar (Genesis 16). But that is about as close as Muslims come to biblical truth.

The Koran teaches none of the personal attributes of God such as holiness, grace, and love. There is no savior. They believe forgiveness from God comes only through good works.

And even with a lifetime of good works, there is no assurance of heaven as mercy is Allah’s choice to give to whom he wants. But to entice you to try, Allah promises in the Koran, “Surely for the God fearing awaits a place of security, gardens and vineyards and maidens with swelling breasts, like of age, and a cup overflowing.”

Although Muslims claim to believe in Jesus and praise Him as a prophet, they don’t accept Him as the Son of God. In fact, Islam’s one unforgivable sin is not believing in Jesus as Lord and Savior. They can’t imagine God allowing His Son to die such a cruel death on the cross.

You should witness to Muslims the same way you witness to anyone else God has laid on your heart. Start with a lot of prayer for wisdom and spiritual protection, wait for God to allow the opportunity, and stick to Scripture when answering questions. If your husband has questions about what’s wrong with Islam, you can pick up one of several Christianity vs. Islam outlines in your local Christian bookstore.
