Verse of the Day — Romans 14:1

Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.

Overlook unscriptural opinions that come from a weak faith.

God wants us to accept our brothers and sisters in Christ who are weak in faith and NOT pass judgment on them because of dumb things they do or say. If they are new in faith, the Bible compares them to babies:

(I speak to you as) infants in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. —1 Corinthians 3:1-2

As a new baby Christian, we have a lot of needs. We need good spiritual food to grow strong. We need constant attention so we don’t get into trouble. And we don’t make great decisions all the time—because we are not spiritually mature. And just like growing up and learning, it takes several years (if not a lifetime :-).

A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger,
And it is his glory to overlook a transgression.
—Proverbs 19:11

Dear Compass,

Do you see any prophetic significance in the peace talks between Israel and their surrounding enemies?

There will come a time in the future when a peace treaty will be “confirmed” or enforced for Israel for a seven-year period.

And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate. —Daniel 9:27

The architect of the treaty will be a great world leader who eventually dies of a head wound but is revived and indwelled by Satan … thus becoming the prophesied anti-Christ.

The seven-year period:

  • Begins after Rapture.

    For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. —1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
  • Ends with Armageddon.

    And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon. —Revelation 16:16
  • And precedes the 1000-year reign of Christ as King on earth from Jerusalem.

    Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. —Revelation 20:4
Ten nations will be involved in this peace treaty, all from the former Roman Empire—five nations from the Roman leg and five from the Eastern leg—which would exclude the United States.

As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle. —Daniel 2:42

After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. —Daniel 7:7
     See also Daniel 7:24 and Revelation 17:12.

It is possible that what we are watching is the beginning stages of a peace treaty that is later enforced by the world leader who gains world power in the vacuum after Rapture.

The Bible says that post-Rapture, Russia and Persia (Iran) will attack Israel using nuclear weapons (Ezekiel 38/39). Israel defeats Russia/Iran, wiping out 5/6ths of their army but accepts a peace treaty for future protection from this world leader.

But the most intriguing part of this whole scenario is that all the above was written as Bible prophecy over 2000 years ago. God prophesied that after the Jews rejected and killed their Messiah:

  • They would be scattered around the world for some 2000 years.

    Come, let us return to the LORD
    For He has torn us, but He will heal us;
    He has wounded us, but He will bandage us.
    He will revive us after two days;
    He will raise us up on the third day,
    That we may live before Him.
    —Hosea 6:1-2

    But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. —2 Peter 3:8

  • They would then regather in their homeland (Ezekiel 38:8) as a pure race without losing their identity.

    After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come into the land that is restored from the sword, whose inhabitants have been gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel which had been a continual waste; but its people were brought out from the nations, and they are living securely, all of them. —Ezekiel 38:8
  • Their land would again bloom.

    The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
    And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom;
    Like the crocus
    —Isaiah 35:1
  • They would have a strong army.

    So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. —Ezekiel 37:10
  • They would be a “burdening stone” to the whole world.

    It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. —Zechariah 12:3
