Verse of the Day — Galatians 1:7

. . . there are some that are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

We have false teachers IN the church!

Not everyone who says they are a Bible teacher teaches God’s truth.

For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, wanting to be teachers of the Law, even though they do not understand either what they are saying or the matters about which they make confident assertions. —1 Timothy 1:6-7

. . . just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies . . . —2 Peter 2:1

Fortunately, God provided a check and balance to make sure teachers teach accurate doctrine. He charges us (sitting in the pews) to “prove” the truth of what is being taught by comparing the teaching to other scripture:

. . . they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so. —Acts 17:11

So, really, you have no excuse for being taught false doctrine.

Thank you for your recent comments on Mormonism. Glenn Beck has deceived many by making them think Mormons are real Christians. As a former LDS member, it always pleases me to see someone answer the questions correctly, because many Christian pastors/leaders are deceived as to what Mormonism teaches.

We too are amazed at the confusion over what Mormons actually believe. And it is compounded by the fact that Mormons like Glen Beck and Mitt Romney are constantly on TV, looking and acting normal, when in fact, they are tremendously deceived in the most important area of their lives!

They basically serve Satan and yet Christians clamor all over them for their answers to today’s problems. Beck does do a good job on American history, and Romney is better than most politicians these days, but should we, as Believers, follow someone, hook, line and sinker, who is led spiritually by Satan? No!

Can we learn from any non-Christian? Of course we can. But we have to always keep in mind who we are dealing with ultimately.

Pray for Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses to get saved from the wrath of God due on anyone who is not trusting their sin to be paid by the shed blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary. And ONLY the shed blood of Jesus, the ONLY God in the universe, will be acceptable.

In order to better expose the horrific Mormon doctrines, as well as the ridiculous teachings of the Jehovah Witnesses, Compass has an excellent “Steeling the Mind” presentation entitled Satan’s Top Two Cults. It was presented by James Walker, and in one hour he lays wide open Satan’s Mormon and JW doctrinal lies. Their beliefs are often so weird it’s comical!

Dear Compass,

You recently instructed a woman to get under her husband’s authority. Does it matter if he is saved or not?

Another wrote:

What? The man is divorcing his wife, wants all the money, is deserting his child, is treating his wife like a whore, expects his wife to work while he stays home . . . and you rip the woman??!! Where is your mercy?!

Even though our heart goes out to this woman, and many others in similar situations, the Biblical command is not to be under the husband’s authority as long as he is spiritual, or if he’s a Believer, or if he’s at least a 50% man. Rather, it simply says:

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. —Ephesians 5:22-24

The key here for women is to understand that they are actually submitting to the Lord, not their husbands. They are trusting and obeying God’s Word, nothing else. A man can never fulfill his wife’s needs and a wife can never fulfill her husband’s needs. Only God can meet our needs.

Many women are in “seemingly” no-win situations. It is not more merciful for us to recommend divorce when God says He hates divorce.

“For I hate divorce,” says the LORD, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says the LORD of hosts. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.” —Malachi 2:16

We believe that no matter how hopeless, or painful, a situation might seem to be, you can never go wrong in trusting God’s Word.

With men it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible —Matthew 19:26
