Planning for the future is a must!
God puts a premium on diligent planning. It’s a “look-before-you-leap” strategy. The Bible also says plans are better prepared if you ask for advice from Godly people:
Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed. —Proverbs 15:22
But realize your plans must be part of God’s overall plan:
Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established. —Proverbs 16:3
The mind of a man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. —Proverbs 16:9
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but the counsel of the LORD, it will stand. —Proverbs 19:21
As a side note: David’s plan to build the temple (1 Chronicles 28:9-21) rivals any business planning today and has been used successfully as a template for planning secular projects.
My question is about the Plan B pill or Abortion Pill. My 14-year-old daughter asked me what the difference is with the Plan B pill and birth control since they both get in the way of God’s plan. The Plan B pill stops the fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus, so where does it say in the Bible that a fertilized egg is a baby?
We believe a fertilized egg is a new life created by God.
Thus says the LORD who made you and formed you from the womb . . . —Isaiah 44:2
Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb . . . —Isaiah 44:24
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, —Jeremiah 1:5
Therefore, anything designed to destroy a fertilized egg is an abortion.
But that’s not the point. What is important to understand is children from God’s perspective. He calls them a “blessing” and a “gift” from Him.
And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb —Deuteronomy 7:13
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD; —Psalm 127:3
So your birth control question addresses the wrong subject. Think about it: Should ANYONE ever consider withholding God’s blessing from their life? If God is willing to bless you, should you ever say, “Not now, Lord, I will let you know when I am ready for your blessing of having children—when I determine they will best fit into my life”? That kind of thinking is putting the emphasis squarely on the temporal, not the eternal. It’s saying to God that you’re trusting human reasoning over His Word. We spend only a few years on this earth but eternity in heaven. Where should your priorities be?
We would go so far as saying that having fewer kids because of money, lifestyle, time, size of house, etc., is from the pit of hell. Christians are paying a steep price because they have bought into this Satanic line of reasoning.
