Why the World Will Envy Israel
by: Bill Perkins
As you can see in the map above, the number of countries that fully support Israel today is diminishing throughout the world. And, of course, Israel is viciously hated by the Arab nations.
And as we watch Israel become heavier and heavier for the world to bear, it's hard to imagine a post-Rapture situation when she will not only be hated, but also will be the envy of the world.
Envy? Why envy?
Yep, "envy." The Bible says there will come a day in the not-too-distant future when Israel will be the envy of the world. This is based on the verses in Ezekiel 38 & 39 where it talks about Israel returning to her land in the latter years, which now she has fulfilled (Ezek 38:8), and being attacked.
The Bible says that when Israel returns to her homeland after being scattered around the world (which happened in 1948), at some point the Israelis will discover something that is so valuable, so desirable, so huge, that a consortium of countries, including Russia and Iran, will band together and invade Israel in order to capture the booty.

Israel has already discovered massive gas fields off her coast

Today there is nothing in Israel of any great importance. Certainly nothing worth invading a sovereign nation. Israel has no known natural resources and the land is mostly desert. Therefore something hugely valuable will be discovered in the future... maybe the near future.
Some have theorized that since the Dead Sea is shrinking, it will eventually expose a rich diamond and/or gold deposit. But half of the Dead Sea belongs to Jordan... a much easier nation to conquer.
So I think the most likely scenario is that Israel will discover a huge oil reservoir within her boundaries. The Bible even suggests there is something under Israel:

The Israeli government has issued licenses to
drill for oil in several locations.

There are at least two companies drilling for oil in Israel today. And an incredibly large gas field has already been found. As oilmen say, "Where there's gas, there's oil."
In the last ten years, Israel has been busy licensing companies to drill for oil. Those companies who have obtained drilling licenses believe that the largest oil field in the world is somewhere under Israel.

The black arrows show the path of oil from the Arabian States;
The red arrows show the much shorter route of oil from Israel. |
And if/when oil is discovered in Israel, they'll be able to ship oil directly via the Mediterranean Sea, bypassing the oil-rich Muslim countries and thereby having a huge delivery price advantage.
If you think the Arabs hate Israel now, imagine how livid they will be if they lose their world oil monopoly to Israel!
Whatever the "riches of Israel" turn out to be, they'll be discovered in the future and make the world quite envious.
And if I'm correct that the Ezekiel 38-39 invasion to steal these riches takes place immediately following the Rapture, then it is likely they will be discovered just prior. Which means we should see all this happen soon if we're close to the Rapture.
Keep your eyes on Israel!
Shalom!
